Anyone here concerned with the state of Germany, Sweden, and France because of the migrants?

They are nightmares now. I would absolutely not travel there.

This is Paris today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN0QddK8VFk

I'm far more concerned about the state of this forum.

Also about the people who seem to be living on the streets in that video.

What about the Americans in our country who live on the street?

We can't even take care of them, how can we import more people to take care of?

I don't know, but the US is a giant ass country and you're only taking a paltry number of refugees, so it's a moot point.

there ya go buddy. dont mention it.

additionally, i would argue that as of right now a syrian refugee coming to america and being homeless is an absolute improvement vs. them living in aleppo.

I wouldn't go that far, and I'm taking that as a general sentiment, not something literal. Humans have competing instincts and feelings which drive people to protect and help others in some circumstances and to attack and hurt in other circumstances. We're not well adapted to interacting with people who we will never meet. Maybe it's civilization or society beyond a certain point which is a disease. I want to suggest that we need to learn to overcome some of our innate impulses, but that seems pretty hopeless.
All you have to do is move most people halfway to Spock. Impulses are much easier to resist when the brain recognizes them as irrational.

i know someone who is letting a homeless guy he knows from school stay at his place. this guy begs at street lights for money and then gets high with it. he gets arrested all the time and judges offer him halfway house/abuse programs instead of jail. he takes that option and then immediately bails on the program. he is not an exception to the rule. my friend is getting taken (this guy sells him his EBT for the month at half price, uses the cash to go get high, and then comes back and eats the groceries my friend is buying!). he regrets taking the guy in but feels he can't get him out...been like a year now

it's not always that "we won't" take care of them, the have to want to be taken care of first.
