No, you have it backwards. Overriding your inclinations through sheer willpower alone for every day for the rest of your life is the hard thing, to the point where it's more or less impossible. Changing your inclinations through habit is challenging, but actually doable.

This has applications far beyond dieting and is critically important for any human being to understand.

That's because people are lazy and are happy when they reach their "goal weight". This is not a surprise.

My point is that the people who are too lazy to do one are going to be the same people too lazy to do the other. You can't just say "make it habit" to those people, because they generally don't have the willpower to even begin.

The first case of Ebola in the US has been diagnosed at Texas Presbyterian in Dallas. Just got the notification from the hospital.

Haven't we been importing ebola patients for a while now?

Yea. This guy was on a flight. Came back and was symptomatic apparently. The CEO said it's not cause for alarm...... yet. Ok I added the yet part.

Wookie

Quick before and after about how you felt 40 lbs heavier at your max and 40 lbs off. What are the biggest differences?

I love hearing those "i quit smoking", " I lost 30+ lbs" stories, something about humans doing drastic changes thats appealing.

I dunno, actually. Maybe slightly higher sex drive? Looser/new clothing? I need to exchange my wedding ring for a smaller size, too (mine is tungsten carbide, so I can't have it resized). It's been such a long process that I don't really remember huge differences in how I feel. I'm much faster on my bike now, though, and it feels pretty manly to be able to deadlift 270 lbs like I did on Sunday.

My wife's lost 30 lbs, and she now snores a whole lot less or when she does, it's much quieter, so that's pretty great for both of us.

Good good.

I had a friend that went down to 190 from 230-240 ish and was telling us he and his girlfriend were humping like rabbits.

This is nearly what I'm doing, confirmed me and his gf humping like rabbits.

Joking aside, though, I notice it everywhere. Everything is just easier. Now I look at the last 5-10 pounds I have to lose and wonder how I ever lived with 50 extra pounds.

Bras, girdles and leggings infused with caffeine and sold as weight loss aids were more decaf than espresso, and the companies that sold them have agreed to refund money to customers and pull their ads, U.S. regulators said on Monday.

The Federal Trade Commission said Wacoal America and Norm Thompson Outfitters, which owns Sahalie and others, were accused of deceptive advertising that claimed their caffeine-impregnated clothing would cause the wearer to lose weight and have less cellulite. "If someone says you can lose weight by wearing the clothes they are selling, steer clear. The best approach is tried and true: diet and exercise," said Jessica Rich, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.
