Well, my definition of ad is what is going to convince others.... so I don't see a difference between those usages.

Lolz... can't really go on any further with you. It is hugely repetitive and has no visuals. I had a tough time making it to the end, and only finished it because I was fairly certain I was going to post about how bad it was. Not to mention the support our troops types that are going to look away for other reasons besides boredom.

Meh, your just wrong. The ad was gripping, you don't understand white people I guess. Deep in our dna, spirit, ect... we fear the foreigner. It harped on that fear right from the beginning.
10-08-2011 , 03:20 PM
I think Max is right within the context he is arguing.

The point is roughly: Ppl are dumb.
10-08-2011 , 03:32 PM
I think it's a good political ad on the internet where people are going to be interested in specifically watching and listening to it. It's a terrible, worthless ad on television where the people aren't interested and aren't going to care much about an ad unless it catches their attention. This ad doesn't catch attention, there is no visual images and it takes too long to get a point out.
10-08-2011 , 03:36 PM
Or maybe Max is dumb and that's why he doesn't like it?

Well, then the ad fails on multiple levels. We needs those bases to assert our dominance and keep on eye on these foreigners whom I fear.
10-08-2011 , 03:40 PM
And wtf with the "no visual images"? What do you think that entire video was made up of? Moving text and pictures isn't visual all of a sudden? That's why it attracts the average viewer. It's not stagnant like that horrid Obama ad.

And obviously it will never be played on TV. Nobody will ever pay attention to a 3 minute commercial unless there's tits involved. And even then it's 50/50.

That's easy. They won't report the results. If they report the results they'll forget to mention Paul. If they mention Paul, it'll be with the disclaimer "lol straw poll"

just now on FOX they mentioned that ron paul always wins straw polls and it never translates into winning in the primaries.

lol FOX

Turned to FOX News, mentioned he won but how it shouldn't be a surprise because RP fans are good at packing buses and rooms as support, also how the other poll when Romney won with 37% was MORE important and they should pay attention to that. Talked about Romney, Perry, and Cain for a bit, then went on to talk about a missing baby. Hope they find the baby but WTF.
10-08-2011 , 04:16 PM
the anchor from FOX "ok, enough about another straw poll, on to something we SHOULD BE paying attention too.... the New Hampshire primary"

Not sure what this means... but I wasn't being totally serious. It's fine to try to tap into fear of foreigners and it can make for a powerful ad, it's just that this one won't get there for most people.

On rewatch, I think it's biggest sin it is that it gets too dumbed down by being overly detail oriented and explict. If you are going to use the imagine motif, let me actually imagine something and don't fill in every dam detail for me. They actually say "The reality is that our military presence on foreign soil is as offensive to the people that live there as armed chinese troops would be if they were stationed in Texas". People can get that message without it being said word for word. It would be like the Obama ad saying "Any time somebody gets an abortion the person who was aborted could have grown up to the become the president of the united states if they weren't aborted". Yeah...we all get it.

It would be alot better if you take out all the texas, chinese, russian etc references and just say imagine a foreign military in your town, these foreign soldiers are not subject to the laws you are etc etc.... Some people don't have to imagine or something like that, with an image of US troops near armed civilians in another country. Then cut to the paul speech. Not particularly great but I think better than how it is now.

Hmm, I guess 3 min is a touch long. I suppose they could somehow get it down to 2.

I like the use of China and Texas however. China brings to mind the obvious evil of communism (in our minds (white)). Texas raises our "cowboy up" dormant mentality, drawing the strength to sack up and execute justice (lethally if necessary).

At the end of the day I'm not even a Ron Paul supporter (used to be). Now I know the celto anglo saxons are the Israelites and nothing short of the "kingdom of God" will save us now, ie institution of the law of Moses, (guaranteeing land to each citizen that can't be sold, for self sustainability). http://www.jahtruth.net/politics.htm

i did. i suppose it was quite electric but it was my first time seeing him so i didn't know what to expect. the atmosphere was awesome. i just wanted to give everyone there a big hug at once.

surprised at the diversity of the RP crowd in age and race and sex. also at the attractiveness levels of the girls.

ive never been so happy to wake up at 730 am, esp after going to bed at 4

It is too long. But that will naturally fix itself if you remove the unnecessary and overly dumbed down parts.

I don' t know, I think just saying foreign is scarier....let people fill it in with muslims, chinese, whoever they are afraid of.

The real money in poker can be made because people think they are smarter than everyone else.

True...which is another form of not understanding other people.
