That might provide the most interesting election result in quite some time if the Tea Party gets behind Paul and rejects Commie Romney and his secret universal health care agenda. Third place finish for Mitt?

I think it's likely he could do that if he finishes in 2nd. He might not have if he were younger and planning to run again in the future, but now he's got nothing to lose.

the benefit of announcing it now is forcing the "mainstream" R candidates to really think about whether or not to run and/or support paul
05-13-2011 , 12:15 PM
Why would the other R candidates be more inclined to endorse him if he was running for the Libertarian party as opposed to the Republican party?

Well, yeah. How dare someone interrupt the 24/7 cheer leading parade by suggesting that having trials for people would be preferable to storming buildings and shooting people. What a kook!

It's more like a threat... if they don't endorse him, then he will run as a libertarian and siphon votes from fiscally conservative republicans.

I really think it will be an easy win if Paul gets the nomination.

Guise, he isn't going to win or even come close. Just look forward to him embarrassing the laughably horrible GOP field in the debates.

It is not your utopia that concerns me. It is your complete lack of how transition works - your logic is: "If a lot of people die - they will know"

Yes, cus RP has so much control over the electoral process, its his 'blessing' that all others must seek if they want to continue.

Does he have some good ideas that resonate with an internet board that doesn't participate in the voting process? Sure looks to be the way to become elected.

Of course. Neither is Jessica Alba going to sleep with me. But I'm still going to enjoy thinking about how much fun it would be if she did.

Yeah, that's right. I used Alba as an analogy for Ron Paul.

Lots of states have "sore loser" laws that prohibit this.

The Case for Ron Paul for President
Written IIRC by his campaign manager from 08?
05-13-2011 , 06:22 PM
article says, "Jesse Benton is political director for Congressman Ron Paul."
05-13-2011 , 06:36 PM
His campaign manager in 2008 was Kent Snyder who passed away shortly after the election. RIP.

Jesse Benton, who wrote the article, used to be a spokesperson for Bob Barr but got fired after he scheduled the Borat interview. He was also the person who scheduled Ron Paul's interview with Bruno. That's right, he got leveled by Cohen twice.
