More than half of Paul's supporters would rather vote for Palin?

(There are some other discrepancies in those two numbers, and a few reasons why they shouldn't be compared directly, but still...)

maybe, from a poll sometime ago, 50% of tea partiers think Palin is the best, 50% think RP is the best.

That's answering a different question. For example, I'm more surprised by the first statement than by this one.

Well, surprised is probably too strong, but this doesn't really play into the narrative that Paul supporters like to offer. Anyway, it's interesting if true.

When I was a teenager, I had met someone through my x gf who became my friend, and sort of instructed me if you will in the ways of the marijuana. He told me something that has stuck with me to this day.

"every little bit counts"

The same is true of support for presidential candidates.
I agree, a lot of people like to waste their time.

A lot of momentum for Mr. Paul in recent news. Since I have been critical I thought I would acknowledge this undeniable fact.
08-24-2011 , 07:19 PM
so Tom, why don't you elaborate?

regardless, having a bumper sticker and going through the mall by yourself shouting RON PAUL RON PAUL END THE FED END THE FED etc are two different things.

the bumper sticker makes people think ron paul has real world supporters not just on the internet. the mall makes people think "wow, look at that, ron paul has a real world supporter but he's clearly a nutjob...i bet RP is a nutjob too."

same people who shot jfk. but I don't think it would need to go that far. it's going to take more than Ron Paul to do anything. and if they had to they would. it's not like we the people going to do **** about it.

Why would Cuba, the Mafia & Russia want Ron eliminated?

I wouldn't be surprised if Cuba doesn't try & funnel some $$ to his campaign.

I'm sure Russia would love to see all 800 bases we have throughout the world closed down.

Have not heard of any plan Ron has for attacking organized crime.

They all sound like donors to me.

you need cliffs for a 5 min video? no one is forcing you to watch.
08-25-2011 , 11:25 AM
That's why he needs cliffs.

Favorable interview of Paul (ldo its Fox Business) where Dobbs questions him on how he would balance the budget. Paul argues for entitlement reform and a reduction in military spending, with emphasis mostly on entitlement reform (ldo its fox).

I can't link on the phone but the Atlantic has a piece called The Progressive Critique of Ron Paul: He Isn't Libertarian Enough that is along those lines.

I don't know, pounding a sign into your lawn with some guy's name on it, or waiting in line at a fire station to punch a hole next to his name are sort of daffy too when you actually think about what you're doing. Running through the mall is at least original.
