I mean he is a Princeton grad with a Notre Dame JD, he's not a dummy. I assume Trump said what he said because of that idiotic conspiracy theory he got fired for on Fox. And more than once I've seen him be an actual lawyer even on Fox and come to the correct conclusion which obv rarely agrees with conservative dogma. But FNC is all about ratings, wtf do they care that he has no cred now? unless he just made the story up from whole cloth which I guess is possible from how it reads. But usually even in those cases they just issue an apology during the 3:35 PM ad break and move on

My guess is this just got so much attention, they felt they had to do something. But they'll ultimately just put him back on the air after this all blows over in a few weeks. It's a good sign though when even Fox News is feeling the heat.

Aren't there any penalties Trump should be subject to, for falsely accusing Obama, multiple times, of tapping his phones? It tilts me that Trump will never apologize or admit any wrong-doing, and this will just blow over. Some sort of official censure from Congress seems to be in order here, no? It wasn't just typical Trump idiocy... it was conduct unbecoming the office of president.

I sort of agree that liberals are overplaying their hand ("JEFF SESSIONS IS IN ON IT TOO!" is one example that makes no sense to me) but I disagree there's no substance to the scandal.

From a more cynical political point of view, it has been repeatedly demonstrated by the GOP that truth is irrelevant and the American public can be convinced of something if you simply repeat it enough. So from a strategist point of view, overplaying your hand is just fighting fire with fire.

Chris, some people are conflating scandals because to 99% of people there's so much **** going on its nearly impossible to keep track. I don't blame them for casual ignorance here tbh, unless they have a track record (see:losing all)
