Trump being a racist ******* is a selling point to the Republican base. They already know he's a bigot. The people who insist racism ended 20 years ago are flat-out lying to you and not acting in good faith. The key to winning elections moving forward is not to persuade deplorables but to get the Democratic base to turn out.

Basically, zombie Sartre had the best take on 2017:

I don't think it does anything to the tens of millions of racists. But it will change the narrative a lot and will have an impact on those who didn't vote or voted third party but are not racist. There are millions and millions who absolutely would be woke by it. Even if trump's core would not be.

I'm not sure it is libel, the bar is pretty high for a public figure - especially a former President. Now, on the other hand if we were to open up the libel laws to make it easier to sue... Who was it that wanted to do that, again?

The only person who could sue for libel is Obama, and that's obviously not going to happen, so this is sort of dumb.

By the way this guy was Bryan Cohen's father-in-law. Who is Bryan Cohen you wonder? Trump's personal attorney.

Another good McCarthyism:

"I'm a highly successful NFL coach."

Oronov died 2 days ago (a russian dies and it doesn't sniff the news), reportedly organized the meeting--the one where trumps lawyer and some people tried to blackmail pres of ukraine, that one. No big deal there.

Other russian or ukrainian, whatever, put blame on NYT, because since NYT outed them, they're on the list. Fair point, the morons at CNN outed the dossier UK spy.

he admitted the meeting took place and he met trump's lawyer. Well there's that part of the dossier at least. It also sounded as if he thinks it was a suicide tho but w/e. I'm just gonna trust the translation of his facebook post is close enough.

We already knew / suspected (per Guardian) that the FISA court turned down requests by the FBI

Quote:
The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.
Odds they just said "Oh Well" and went home? Of course not. Take note of Favreau tweet clarifying former WH staffer.

SmartTrump looks like he's trying to taint any possible fruit of surveillance as Obama dirty tricks.
Or DumbTrump is shocked to learn universal surveillance includes him.
