Her Netflix show is pretty hit-or-miss but her stand-up special 'Nice Lady' is good imo.

not so simple, saudis have often intentionally drive price down for extended periods

the primary reason is to disincentivise capital investment/R&D into alternative sources, but they also do it to squeeze traditional competition and as a geopolitical tool (sustained low price ****s up tehran, for instance). there are a bunch of other reasons too

it cuts into their short-term margin obv, but they can do it and remain profitable because they are the cheapest producer, costs them like $7.50 to extract a barrel as sand is easy to dig. (places like usa and venezuela = more like $30-$40/barrel)

SA is investing a lot in solar.

But they probably do lower prices to discourage other oil exploration.

I'm curious why the 'black' needed to be added in there. Does the GOP have any awareness like at all?

That was not a direct quote, fatkid was just spelling it out a little more for people.

Mark Levin constantly shills for the "Association of Mature Americans", which bills itself as the "conservative option" to AARP. Have not looked into it much but the "member benefits" on their web site seem really lame and shady. Their "top-rated" benefit is coupons for Friendly's.

I'd feel bad for old people but right-wingers deserve what they get.

I loved her Netflix show, she brought HEAT

Being someone who grew up in a town with 4 Friendly's at one point and have seen them die off (mostly due to their terrible service and overexpansion), I'm looking forward to grifting these deplorable olds by happily taking their free coupons

Patriot Mobile seems to be a good one too. "Dont give your hard earned money to big cellular companies who donate to progressive causes! Give it to us and we'll keep some and give the rest to big cellular companies!"

Love is a little much for me. I liked the stand-up portion. It was good but not great. The rest of the show with the various guests and the sketches wasn't very entertaining, imo.

I'm liking the new Hasan Minhaj netflix show. Less HEAT for sure, but still funny. He's doing like a poor man's John Oliver, but it's still pretty good.

John Kelly signs an order allowing American troops to use lethal force at the border. The Military Times is reporting that Kelly, the White House chief of staff, has signed a memo that authorizing the American military to “perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary” in the service of defending border agents. The memo, described as a “Cabinet order,” defines these activities to include “a show or use of force (including lethal force, where necessary), crowd control, temporary detention. and cursory search.”

It’s unclear why this authorization came from the desk of Kelly, rather than the president. Further, as the Military Times notes, the order might run afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which restricts the use of the military for domestic purposes.
This is gross. I can't wait until an immigrant crossing the border becomes "advancing on a military position" and the "we get to kill immigrants at the border" becomes US policy. It also seems like a round about way to make the US military do the functions of the Border Patrol.

Credit where it's due, Alex Wice suggested border snipers back in 2016
