When I was very young I did a book report on the novelization of Rocky. I had never seen the movie and I just assumed he won at the end and said so much so while reading my book report to my class.

The teacher and other kids said “Uh didn’t Rocky win?” I just kind of shrugged and that was that. I made the whole thing up but the only thing I got called out on was that one thing at the end and there were no real consequences. I got a decent grade.

The correct response would have been, "I'M AFRAID! ALL RIGHT?! YOU WANT TO HEAR ME SAY IT? You want to break me down? All right, I'm afraid. For the first time in my life, I'm afraid."

It really is amazing that Trump is the hill the GOP wants to die on.

You picked the novelization of Rocky for a book report and you couldn't bring yourself to read it or watch the movie? That is something. Should have just picked Finnegan's Wake imo.

Is there any point at which self-respecting journalists will actually refuse to cover the WH? This is embarrassing.
11-19-2018 , 06:07 PM
no, because they're as screwed up as trump is or they're desperate to keep their jobs. They won't fight back and trump knows it.

The correspondent dinner doesn't have a comedian anymore, it's some historian this go around.

It's the hill their voters want to die on.

journalists (self-respecting or otherwise) refusing to cover the WH is an awful idea. but for some reason the suggestion gets mentioned itt about once every two weeks.

Not just some historian. One of his books is the source material for the greatest work of musical theatre ever. (Slight exaggeration possible.)

He's written the seminal books on Washington, Hamilton, and Grant.

An absolute legend in my class did one on this book:

He only got one sentence in, claiming it was about a bunch of people "trying to find this mermaid called Delicious". Like, **** that 'reading the back' noise, nerdlinger, I looked at the damn cover already.
