What is the "congressional abdication of duty" he's referring to? The president has absolute authority to pull clearances, right? Congress has no ability to stop him as far as I can tell.

I guess he may be arguing that they have a duty to inpeach?

What does his having the authority to pull the clearance have to do with anything?

Absolutely. He is violating his oath to the constitution by pulling clearances from people because they talk about him.

Yeah. A good portion, probably all, of my family voted for Trump, but few of them are super political and certainly don’t keep up with politics other than Fox News and Wall Street Journal. None of them are on Twitter. They are basically all religious conservatives and reasonably well-educated. All their exposure to Trump’s statements are filtered through media outlets, so they never see how stupid his tweets are. I think exposure to his tweets would reduce the enthusiasm/willingness of people like many of my family members to vote for Trump. Not that they would become Dems or vote for one, but I think it would slightly decrease the chance Hartley would be willing to pull the lever, and as others have pointed out, Trump’s margin for error is razor thin. So I think an effective media campaign may be to just post Trump’s tweets.

wow is everyone on this forum completely anti-trump? i gotta admit taking steps to reduce tensions with north korea and russia as well as staying away from the discreet funneling of weapons to ISIS leaving them decimated and now a part of history thankfully was pretty awesome.
not to meantion now that i will starting my own business to be able to pay 20% corporate tax is pretty great. why does everyone hate trump despite his great success? is it like hating a team simply because they always win and its not your team?
08-18-2018 , 02:32 PM
yup you figured it out. congrats.

trump is a war hero who saved thousands of children from danger in war and stuff. he just ran in, no weapon, right into the firefight. obama never did that

Maybe because most of us realize our tax rates are low and we would rather fund things our country needs like Universal Healthcare instead of a tax cut. It sure would be nice for those people who want to start a business but can't leave because of their Healthcare worries.

I am still waiting for wins from Trump rather than pure BS flowing from his mouth or in the form of tweets.

obama founded isis and was funneling weapons to them secretly but trump stopped that. obama kept black unemployment high because he hates america and was very divisive but trump fixed that too
08-18-2018 , 02:41 PM
i stated quite a few huge wins. and i sure would like free healthcare who wouldnt? the unaffordable healthcare act was terrible, just gave the same blue cross coverage i had but at 3 times the cost.

and whats with the mccartheism 2.0? the black book has been dusted off and is back in action, didnt we learn the first time around?
08-18-2018 , 02:41 PM
obama started nuclear war with russia and north korea but trump smartly chose to let bygones be bygones and forgive both nations and welcome them as equals to the united states in the international community.

trump thinks health insurance costs $12 a year and you get back all your premiums when you turn 65, but obama did a big affordable care act thing that i can’t understand at all

despite the sarcasm your actually right. weapons were being funneled to terrorist organizations for years. ISIS is done has been for over a year, my sister is a journalist in lebanon and just recently had a lengthy discussion with her about the scene out there.

the black unemployment thing may have a bit of truth to it. obama made being unemployed or on welfare so beneficial (the benefits were astounding) that why not work for cash and get all your fellow citizens tax dollars on top of that?

there isn’t a beginner politics thread for people who have no idea wtf is going on so i suggest you stop posting and start reading

the ACA worked like this, first it was horribly named was obv the unaffordable uncaring act.
second who do you think payed the tax for not having it. poor people dont pay, most all wealthy or upper middle class have health insurance despite its price tag that tripled seemingly overnight. that leaves two groups of people that help subsidize the rest - the middle class and lower middle class who are living month to month working multiple jobs in many cases who simply cant afford $1k a month for their family and have to resort to urgent care or cheap doctors. on top of that they get taxed to help pay for the other 3 classes.

your sarcastic hyperbole doesnt refute facts.

You aren't dealing in facts. Health care costs didn't triple overnight, and you aren't even talking sensibly about what the ACA did. Trump hasn't accomplished anything in North Korea. ISIS is not substantially worse than they were in 2016.
