Would you tell everyone at the table what your hole cards are? DUCY?

WaPo article I read (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.71b6f72fc9da) says:

Quote:
Not in attendance at the Saturday service was President Trump, who wanted to “avoid disruptions” out of respect for the Bush family, the White House said.
I guess maybe you could read that either way.

But regardless I still don't believe that "protests" are the reason they don't want him there. Unless they're talking about protests from the family of the deceased, the deceased herself, or the rest of the attendees. In which case yeah I believe that.

it’s just so strange, why wouldn’t they want a boorish moron who makes everything about himself to attend the funeral? must be the fault of democrats somehow... protesting, yeah.

"Yes, Mr. President, it's just that we've received intelligence that there's a non-zero chance that Mrs. Bush may actually rise from the casket in an attempt to confront you, to what end we do not know. The Secret Service does not currently have a security protocol in place to counter an attack from the undead, and we feel that the optics of firing upon the zombie corpse of the former First Lady would be harmful in the midterms."

Zero percent chance Trump knew Johnson was black when he tweeted that. Nice job Sly.
04-21-2018 , 04:37 PM
Sly had him once violating the Mann Act was explained to him.
04-21-2018 , 04:42 PM
Must be reassuring to know that your justice system is now predicated on phone chats between the president and the star of stop or my mom will shoot. Another great success story for The Constitution!

LOL he can't even allow Barbara Bush to have her day. Nope, he brags about Sly and pardons.

The Obamas sure seem to be loving life. I wonder if they see the long term damage Trump is doing to the GOP on a level that the rest of us don't.
04-21-2018 , 05:36 PM
Does anybody have insight into how different the security is for a sitting president compared to four former presidents and current and former first ladies plus whoever else important is in attendance?
04-21-2018 , 05:47 PM
Sitting potus hasn't generally attended former first lady funerals.

The attorney would not be breaking the law. But if the information did not fall under the crime-fraud exception, the attorney would be violating his or her ethical obligations, and would be subject to disciplinary action, including disbarment, I suppose, if the conduct were egregious enough. If the information did not fall under the crime fraud exception, I highly doubt that it would be admissible. Lawyers can’t waive the AC privilege. Only the client can do that.

WAY too low. It was closer to 99%.

A more nuanced look is this:

Luther Strange has broad appeal but little excitement

Roy Moore had great excitement but limited appeal, and drove many mainstream R to consider voting D or sitting out.

Prior to the pedophile allegations the Moore/Jones race was already razor thin. The pedofilia barely tipped the needle. The people that would support someone like Roy Moore to begin with wouldn’t be dissuaded by allegations made via WaPo regardless of their credibility: they are so brainwashed that they wait for marching orders when they see something that despicable.
04-21-2018 , 08:23 PM
Citation that the pedo stuff was not the tipping point?
04-21-2018 , 09:35 PM
It sounded a little self-serving, but Doug Jones' campaign manager said on a Vox podcast that they thought the pedo allegations had little impact and maybe hurt Jones a bit by bringing political tribalism deeper into the race.
04-21-2018 , 09:59 PM
What is Trump worried Cohen will flip on him over?
04-21-2018 , 10:55 PM
fake junk that the justice department made up because they're democrats who will do anything to stop america from being made great again
