I thought they said the Russians weren't actually successful but tried to hack voter rolls.

Well that was wrong or I remember wrong.

Apparently because she can. I didn’t realize House filibusters were a thing.

Regarding Gates withdrawal, one thing that may sense as an "embarrassing" exhibit is documentation about billing and unpaid legal fees. I mean even if he were a kiddie fiddler, they're criminal lawyers.

apparently according to a cnn article they are given "one minute" to speak. but the leaders are technically allowed unlimited "leader time"

While I haven't followed closely over the last week, I kind of agree on the budget/DACA approach Schumer and Pelosi are taking. They get a big boost to domestic spending and don't have to deal with shutdown politics. Also, I believe they have firm enough commitments on a DACA vote, and Republicans will be forced to show their hand. We could move from Trump demanding major immigration changes one week to limited immigration changes and some sort of DACA resolution the next.

Afraid she was losing liberal cred on 2p2? Props to her for fighting for something though

trump literally was on video saying "shut it down" "i want the government to shut down". put that on every commercial and keep the government shut down until election day. nobody ****in KNOWS whose fault it is, just throw that commercial on a loop the morons will pick up the idea

tell them a government shutdown means pulling the plug on grandma

7 hour marathons hasn’t been a thing recently because they changed the rules so you don’t even have to speak to filibuster. Pelosi is putting on a show for the media.

Not sure what is going on but much respect for Pelosi here.

Something that Pelosi gets that Trump certainly doesn't is that a leader has to sometimes be willing take on a burden and/or suffer a little for the cause to rally the troops. People believe that high office or reward should entail some sacrifice. Trump, of course, just hires the best people, watches TV, and shows up for the ribbon cutting. His sacrifices are mainly verbal (e.g., "I'm going to MAGA" or "I'll donate 1m dollars to veterans"), which are particularly easy when one is a compulsive liar.

Are you sure you don't mean the Senate? House filibusters aren't really a thing. Of course she's "putting on a show", she's also strongly advocating for what she (and most other people) regards as an important policy issue.

Milo is so toxic that he can't even get contingency representation with his high profile? I guess there aren't many lawyers in his fan base.

Yea, Senate sorry. Was just being stupid.

It seems to me that other than the core deplorables and bots, there doesn't seem to be much real support for the gamergate/alt-right/Breitbart crew. They make a lot of noise and have a lot of fly by night, scammy media outlets (and Fox, obv), but it ain't the millions who came out to the woman's march. You turn the corner and there's like 150 guys banging drums trying to sound like 10k and trying to influence debate or enact policy as though they were 10k, but it's mainly a bunch of jerks who are mad at women/browns/snobby elites and basically want to burn it all down.

Sure, there are plenty of enablers, like Awwal, Inso, Malmuth, but the evidence seems to indicate that many will stay home, while those dems/libs who follow current events/politics and are majorly rustled and ready to run through a wall to get the bloviating orange con artist and his enablers out of office. Anway, that's my maximally optimistic take. My other take is that smart AI that uses human beings as raw materials for paper clips can't come soon enough. Evolution baby--it's always been cruel.

They have a commitment from McConnell to debate DACA but I don't think there's any kind of commitment from Paul Ryan to bring it to a vote in the House, which might be why Pelosi's doing what she's doing. Hopefully there were better negotiations when working out this budget than just hoping McConnell will allow debate and the House will go along with it but we'll find out.

Trumps supporters are exactly the same as him though, only silly liberals believe in sacrifices for the greater good.
