The only reason not to use it is the likeliness they don't have hard proof.
To your first point: That's not equivalent so I won't respond to it.

To the second point: No, and the article was clear about that.

Yes, I said something similar in my post.

If I'm reading the article correctly, prosecution has never been attempted, it's not just that it's never been successful. Also you're missing another reason which the article mentioned: it's normal and proper for a transition team to be in contact with foreign officials, it would need to be a very specific discussion to become illegal, and if the discussion only hinted at lifting sanctions it would be in a gray area which could drive hundreds of officials in the future to be needlessly conservative and avoid engaging in conversations that would be legitimate and beneficial to the US.

Furthermore, if prosecution is unlikely to be successful, yes that is a good reason to leave it alone. This is not like Benghazi or emails, Republicans knew Clinton never did anything actually illegal, the best they could hope for was to inflict political damage. You don't want to push everything hard when there's a good chance of eventually uncovering legit treason. There's also no need to push hard when similar controversies are exposed on a daily basis. The correct play is to needle the administration about it to make them defensive then repeat for the next controversy. Fight harder over the things you can win, like the Muslim ban. Make the story about how Trump loses every major battle and also look at the number of minor battles that were never really pursued but definitely didn't look good. Trump's scam is getting people to believe he's a winner at everything. Showing him to be a loser would be particularly damaging to his support but you have to craft that story with some tact to make it effective.

The man just made $20 billion to lift Russian sanctions soon and put Russian interests ahead of the US's. He doesn't have to do anything else any more. The Ivanka and Melania stuff is just for ****s and giggles.

Congratulation to Donald J. Trump!
As for normal Americans, what will change in healthcare reform policy. Anyone know for that, need to discuss.

Have they defined it yet?

He truly seems unable to play the second level game. There's no ****s and giggles. He luckboxed his way into 20 billion, installed a proxy sec of state, and left the rest of the work to the cronies. There's no REAL leader in the WH. It's just a hydra of individual corruption. Everyone there has seen one too many seasons of House of Cards. They can't even go one day without a **** up. This is not on purpose. It's pure incompetence. Don't give me "he's doing this all for fun" routine.

It's not incompetence as much as they just think nobody's gonna do anything about it.

Yeah trump does stupid things on his own, but for the most part--they are clearly smarter than the opposition. It's a strategy of relentless attacks and hope the opposition gets tired and gives up, or are incapable of stopping them from doing what they want anyway. The knee jerk reaction is to defend strongest or favorite way to do it first, then they take that away and have the advantage.

I mean he's literally telling you what he's gonna do (everything else is BS obv) then does it which is part of the strategy, to demoralize.

How does 2+2 exist for like 20 years and this is the first account named Stephanie?

Has anyone noticed on their Facebook feed that the Trumpkins are mostly silent tonight?

I never ever talk politics at work. But I stupidly engaged a Trumpkin last night. I asked the guy "what would Trump have to do to make you doubt him". He could not answer my question.

I then congratulated him for anointing Trump his messiah and asked if I can attend his next cult gathering.

By the way this isn't your West Virginian coal miner who is clinging to a dead industry and screaming MAGA. This is an attorney who makes $240k+/year and lives a very nice life.

It's been said time and time again. Trumpkins don't give a **** about anyone else other then themselves when it comes to voting. You making him look like a fool (correctly) probably only strengthened his resolve.

They've been silent on my feed for a while. I still see some pro-Trump stuff as a result of a like or comment on public posts, and a couple guys who will always share the latest Breitbart articles, but for the most part the article sharing and definitely original comments in support of Trump has been pretty quiet.

It's cult-ish. It's like talking to a Scientologist. Logic and reason have seemed to escape their brain. That is the scary part. Brainwashing at its core. But how? The man has no charisma and lacks general intellect. He doesn't read or educate himself on policy. He's a swindler. A confidence man. Nothing more.

I'm a "trumpkin" I like the new direction of the country. I gave Obama a chance and I will give trump a chance. Jobs are going to go up, the market is up, and I like his SCOTUS pick. I don't think it's as bad as you all make him out to be.

Pretty sure it is at least rumored that the FBI was seeking warrants on various Trump campaign members starting in I think August, and that they were finally granted warrants in October.

Not confirmed by the FBI though because they only comment on Clinton investigations obviously.

Excited to become Trump's guinea pig on Lebensraum.

Well, before Trump was elected, jobs were up, the market was up, and there was a SCOTUS pick.

Of course Trumpkins ignore all this and act like unemployment was high, the market was low and there was no SCOTUS pick on January 19th.

Maybe so, but if trump is so bad wouldn't all of that be in decline? It isn't it's even better.

I wonder if the House is going to pass the debt ceiling extension when it comes up?
