Pretty bad take here. Trump barely won an election against the literal nut low, worst possible Democratic candidate, with low voter turnout/engagement among non-Republicans and two independents siphoning votes from the Dem. And that was before anyone had got the chance to see what kind of President he would be, which turns out to be objectively completely ****ing terrible (regardless of actual policy).
If he repeals Obamacare, that hurts average Republican voters. So will his tax proposals (or at the very least, it won't help them). When millions of well paying manufacturing jobs don't appear out of nowhere, some people will lose faith. The 'drain the swamp' stuff has already been shown to be a joke. He's been in office for 3 weeks and embarrasses the nation literally every day. He's using the office of the Presidency to promote his daughter's ****ty fashion line. He's deliriously, nakedly corrupt. Again, it's been 3 weeks. You don't think this stuff will have a cumulative effect over 4 years?
Of course, he will still get 40% of the vote regardless of what happens, because it's safe to say at this point that 40% of Americans are awful, stupid people. But that's not enough.
The only way I can see a plausible path to reelection is if there are several major terror attacks, at which point things will get really ugly, or if they start disenfranchising non-white voters by the millions, which seems impossible but who knows at this point.
