The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Every Republican starts off by lubing and jerking off Session for the first minute of their time.

It's a bit meaningless because we're so far out, but geez.

Jeet Heer makes a good point. People criticize Trump for not using 'soft power' in Asia, but it's not that Trump doesn't have soft power, it's that his soft power is centered around white nationalism

Quote:
The Warsaw demonstration clarified why Trump ignored the hopes and fears of the people of Asia: His soft-power message is one of white nationalism, which, of course, will find no purchase in the non-white world. But Trump’s echoing of alt-right themes is likely to find a receptive audience in other European countries like Britain, Austria, Germany, France, and Denmark, all of which have seen a rise in nativist political movements in recent years.

Trump has a dual foreign policy: He seeks solidarity with white-nationalist forces in Europe, thereby undermining democratic leaders who have been America’s longest allies, and he cozies up with the ruling elite of the rest of the world, even murderous dictators. Taken to its logical conclusion, this vision of the world is a troubling one. If successful, Trump’s foreign policy would create a Europe dominated by right-wing populists intent on controlling borders, while the people of Asia would be ruled by despots untroubled by calls for democratization and eager to cut bilateral trade deals. It would be a New World Order held together by illiberalism.

It's a good point and the left should really internalize this. Russia is fun and I hope Trump et al go to supermax prisons or whatever but this is another area where the far right and the deplorables are way, way more politically savvy than their opponents, who are literally trying to beat up Trump with flag waving and CIA experts and American sovereignty concerns. The right has a pretty coordinated ideological campaign to ally with authoritarian despots and cheering on illiberal far right nationalist parties and are almost brazenly unapologetic for this. The far left has no interest in rallying around the flag.

And so like the people outraged over Trump's collusion with Russia and other sundry dictators outrage like 2% of the country that read Superman comics because he defended Truth, Justice and the American Way instead of why most normal people read Superman comics -- because he beat up bad guys. It's political theater without an audience. Trump's an idiot but his foreign policy is calculated and the base wants this. They're just morph America First into some authoritarian frame with Europe opposed and Russia and Saudi Arabia and Turkey on our side, and people fretting about America's old commitments to Cold War priorities are going to get caught holding the bag.

This whole America First! thing from Trumpkins has always seemed odd to me. Like, if you really want to make America first, stop shopping at Wal-Mart for starters. Support your local businesses instead.

I have been thinking about this benghazi and uranium one thing lately and I would say looks like theres not enough basis to appoint a special council.

Looks like someone just vomited on a piece of paper, wrote some words and connected the stains with lines.

Maximum triggering of their base. How is Benghazi not on there? Or did I just miss it in the tangled web of nonsense?

Just in case you forget which evil people were calling the shots when this huge deal went through.

I'm still not sure what exactly the US SoS was supposed to do about a CANADIAN company selling itself to Russia.

I mean the diagram is very clear dude, I'm not sure why you're having trouble with it.

lol, of course it's there. Benghazi is the key to all of this. Top left, nestled in amongst the 4 yellow diamonds.

You missed it lol. It's on the left side above the giant RUSSIA thingy.
11-14-2017 , 06:27 PM
LOL, give that person a raise who made that bubble diagram. This uranium one deal stinks to high heavens and needs to be investigated (waves diagram around in outrage). It’s one thing for Fox to push this propaganda and you expect softball q’s from R but this is completely absurd.

Left side.

I like how Hillary Clinton's emails aren't directly connected to Hillary Clinton's email server. The server is connected to Susan Rice though. The Susan Rice all the way on the left side. The Susan Rice on the right side, which would be easier to draw to, is unrelated.

Someone needs to put that diagram on Chief Planet and see what they say.
