Newt Gingrich provides a window into Trump’s deep-state paranoia
"If you believe the Justice Department doesn’t have a deep cultural bias, and you believe that the average conversation at the Justice Department is not anti-Trump, you’re living in a fantasyland," Gingrich said. "And that’s the president’s frustration."

He added: "In terms of the people Mueller's hiring, these are paid killers."
i thought career law enforcement types leaned republican. maybe they're anti-trump because they're paying attention

lol, slippery slope? Name as many of these subgroups as you can, give them all $8 million (lol) and it's still a drop in the military budget. This is a trash argument.

I saw a site reporting that pentagon officials was afraid that trump was about to announce strikes on north korea after his first transgender tweet, they had to wait 9 minutes before the second tweet came to disconfirm

Well, no. They were told to prepare for it. Then last year Carter declared it done and trans people could openly serve, but allowed the Pentagon a year long review on how that would affect things. Exactly one year later, Mattis said they needed more time. Deadline is now effectively up and this was the result of whatever has been going on for the past year and change.

The Obama administration waved their magic wand, said the magic words, and you applauded. Nothing actually happened, but mere words were good enough.

That's not how life works, though.

There is a lot of anti-Trump sentiment among the lawyers in the Justice Department. That's because lawyers tend to respect the law, norms, due process, etc. If Trump wants more respect from lawyers in the Justice Department, maybe he should take the radical ****ing step of doing something to earn it.

coolstorybro

There are at least several hundred openly transgender service people currently serving in the military.

and

Quote:
A 2016 Rand Corp. study commissioned by the Defense Department concluded that letting transgender people serve openly would have a "minimal impact" on readiness and health care costs, largely because there are so few in the military's 1.3 million-member force.

There is no hope for Inso. He is not worth anybody's time here.

It's a fake scandal because he thinks trans people are faking it and that it is a fake thing. Just look at the snide derision he heaps upon them.

There's been a theory floating around that this was a move designed to cause Democrats to focus on it in the 2018 midterms, which will not play well for them in the three Rust Belt states, or Missouri and Indiana.

I guess I was taking a longer view than the 2018 mid terms.

Maybe in the next life.

I don't drink, got married at 19, and a gaming junkie. Some golf, and an occasional horse show to watch my daughter, but otherwise I'm at work or at home, usually in front of a computer. I skipped my wild 20s in exchange for all my kids being out of the house shortly after I turn 40. Hopefully I can put all the extra cash to entertaining use. Like donating to the NRA and Ivanka's 2024 campaign, amirite?

You don't need a new set of genitals to serve your country. And in fact, I'd imagine you can't do much serving at all for quite a while while you wait for your new junk to heal.

Two years, correct. I stayed clean for that entire time, and it was pretty great. The world continued to turn and everything. Give it a shot, we'll see you just in time for the first candidates to announce for 2020.

Can't. =/

Cut that cord in 2010ish, bro. I used to have to download movies/TV shows and burn them to DVDs to play on my DivX capable DVD players like a caveman. Then I upgraded to USB input, and then straight streaming and a media server. But I look forward to watching those clips tomorrow.

Just saw this. Makes little sense, because it'd just bring more attention to the fact that Mexico wouldn't be paying for it (it's never being built to begin with), but then again, nothing about the Trump administration makes any sense to begin with.
07-26-2017 , 07:05 PM
Setting aside the policy change here is ABSOLUTELY to satisfy the loud outrages of a small, offended subgroup(anti-trans Christian zealots)....

What the **** y'all gonna let Inso go chapter and verse on the arguments from the 1990s about letting gays serve and the arguments from the 1940s on desegregation?

This **** is just so tired

Edit: the same npr link below is in the WaPo article.

Link below has 10 minutes of audio where Gingrich makes this argument in an NPR interview with Rachel Martin. I thought she did a decent job of reeling him in but my god what a load of crap.
