The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

President Donald Trump said he doesn’t “stand by anything” with regard to his false claim that former President Barack Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped, stating incorrectly that he was proven correct. “I don’t stand by anything. I just—you can take it the way you want. I think our side’s been proven very strongly. And everybody’s talking about it. And frankly it should be discussed,” Trump told CBS News in an interview that aired Monday on CBS This Morning. “That is a very big surveillance of our citizens. I think it’s a very big topic. And it’s a topic that should be No. 1. And we should find out what the hell is going on.” When CBS News host John Dickerson pressed Trump further, the president said “OK, it’s enough, thank you,” and cut off the interview.

This from Wiki is actually pretty interesting, I didn't know the story of Jackson's wife:

Quote:
The campaign was very much a personal one. As was the custom at the time, neither candidate personally campaigned, but their political followers organized many campaign events. Both candidates were rhetorically attacked in the press. Jackson was strongly attacked as a slave trader, who bought and sold slaves and moved them about in defiance of higher standards of slaveholder behavior.[60] Matters reached a low point when the press accused Jackson's wife Rachel of bigamy.[61] The accusation was technically true; it was based on the legal status of Rachel's marriage and divorce from her former husband many years prior (1791 to 1794).

Rachel Jackson had been under extreme stress during the election, and she never did well when Jackson was away at war or work. Jackson blamed John Quincy Adams because Adams's supporters had repeatedly attacked the circumstances for Jackson's wedding to Rachel. Jackson described her symptoms as "excruciating pain in the left shoulder, arm, and breast".[62] After struggling for three days, Rachel finally died of a heart attack on December 22, 1828 three weeks after her husband's victory in the election (which began on October 31 and ended on December 2) and 10 weeks before Jackson took office as President. A distraught Jackson had to be pulled from her so the undertaker could prepare the body.[62] He felt that Adams' accusations had hastened her death and never forgave him.[63] Rachel was buried on Christmas Eve. "May God Almighty forgive her murderers," Jackson swore at her funeral. "I never can."[64]
So by "they destroyed her" Trump he means "said true but mean things about her husband and herself"? That's being pretty charitable, I assume Trump couldn't tell the story himself, this is some weird third-hand thing where Trump had a talk with someone angry about putting Tubman on the 20.

That Face the Nation interview was pretty much the closest someone has come to asking Trump specifics and it rattled Trump so much he ended the interview and told the reporter to leave.

Quote:
On Sunday, Trump told Face the Nation host John Dickerson that Republicans are “changing” the bill so that pre-existing condition protections are “permanent” rather than “optional” for the states. In the same interview, though, Trump boasted that Republicans will “create pools [that] are going to take care of the pre-existing”—which is the condition upon which states will be allowed to waive protections for pre-existing conditions.

Was Trump lying or confused? The answer appears to be yes.
He literally has no idea how this healthcare plan works.

If Sarah Kliff ever interviewed him over healthcare it'd be a massacre, not because Sarah is some dogged interviewer but because she actually knows even the bare minimum about healthcare.

Wait till you get to the next season when Jackson literally murders someone for saying mean things about his wife. #triggered

Man, reading the wiki article about Jackson's duel, it sounds like the kind of redneckky **** you'd see on the Discovery channel.

How long do Republicans think they have to wait between saying the Dems were the pro-slavery party, or that they are the party of Lincoln and fawning over Andrew Jackson to fool anyone?

Duterte said he could not commit to visiting the White House after President Trump invited him this weekend, saying “I am tied up.”

“I cannot make any definite promise. I am supposed to go to Russia"

Paul Ryan the Obama BFF needs to step down immediately. He has done more damage to the Republican party than any Democrat ever could. Paul Ryan has been the best Democrats party Speaker of the House in years!

Couldn't agree more.

What the point of voting Republican if they are going to spend more than Democrats??

We are stuck between Dems, the Party of Treason and

The GOP, the Party of Weasels!

What did we vote for in November? To see the same thing happen with millions more innocent, developing humans get killed?
It is unconscionable that Republicans haven't worked to come up with a budget that is in accord with what their constituents voted for.

Everyone in congress wants defense spending when it comes down to the money coming to their state or district. See Bernie and the F-35.

Until a few minutes ago, I only saw highlights of the interview on NK and healthcare. The part where he walks away after poorly trying to defend the wiretapping claim was unbelievable. He basically told the world that what he said speaks for itself and to **** off for questioning it.

Even Duterte has a limit to how much BS he can tolerate.

The Breitbart rage should be a clue that the Dems got something in return.

Andrew Jackson, slave owner, murderer and architect of genoicde...but a big heart... Died 16 years prior to the civil war but was very upset about it

Actually reading that book about Andrew Jackson was boring af, so he's filling in a few of the blanks.
