WOW. You get drunk on one beer.

That's quite impressive.
04-13-2017 , 11:58 PM
Maybe a little bit. I don't often drink. And I'm at 7200 ft altitude and I'm usually pretty close to sea level.
04-14-2017 , 12:03 AM
That would probably account for it then.

Take it easy Ok.

Will it be ironic if Trump ends the world on Earth Day? I need to get the proper use of ironic nailed down before the nuclear winter sets in.

RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I know I would still hate HATE McConnell if I was from any other state. But goddamn as a Kentuckian, dude singlehandedly makes me ashamed to say I was born here.

In his defense....you guys weren't exactly the pride of the nation before.

Sure we weren't the pride of the nation. But then we trot out Mitch "Our main goal is to make Obama a one term president" "Let's block everything Obama does" "My proudest moment was telling Obama we aren't going to hold a hearing for Merrick Garland" McConnell. ****er has made sure to kill any idea of working across the aisle in the foreseeable future.

Lincoln was born in Kentucky

McConnell was born in Alabama

dunno why I bothered to look the last one up, I should've been able to guess that.

You can trust me on that, since I'm from the land of lincoln. Lincoln Douglas debating is still a thing over here. The trump hillary debates were well not even remotely close.

Considering the $16 mil cost of a MOAB and the fact that multiple experts have said there were better alternatives, it's safe to say this was mostly a show of force, right? Probably to say to nuclear states like NK that we even have the ability to blow up underground nuclear facilities.

more of an internal show of force than external

In trying to understand 45*'s military actions, I keep coming back to this:

Quote:
12. Since both permanent war and heroism are difficult games to play, the Ur-Fascist transfers his will to power to sexual matters. This is the origin of machismo (which implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality). Since even sex is a difficult game to play, the Ur-Fascist hero tends to play with weapons—doing so becomes an ersatz phallic exercise.

I know that you hate everything Trump, but by all accounts it was a successful operation.

From the BBC link:

Quote:
Chief Executive of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah confirmed that the attack had been carried out in co-ordination with the government and that "great care had been taken to avoid civilian harm".

In a press briefing on Friday, Gen John Nicholson, commander of US forces in Afghanistan, said: "We have US forces at the site and we see no evidence of civilian casualties nor have there been reports."

Presidential spokesman Shah Hussain Murtazawi told the BBC that IS commander Siddiq Yar was among those killed. Mr Murtazawi said the IS fighters in the tunnels had "come from Pakistan and were persecuting people in the local area".

Gen Nicholson said it was "the right weapon against the right target" and "it was the right time to use the GBU-43 tactically".
He added: "Let me be clear - we will not relent in our mission to destroy [IS in Afghanistan]... There will be no sanctuary for terrorists in Afghanistan.
So they killed 36 ISIS agents. No civilian causalities. Worked with the Afgan government. And you're whining? Because some "expert" on the interwebs decried it because, Trump, right? Because Trump is President.

I don't hate Trump's actions at all. It's his motives that are problematic.

His motives of bombing ISIS?

Newsflash. President Hillary Clinton would have bombed ISIS as well.

Would someone be able to point me in the direction of an article or good graphic that explains how much Republicans ratcheted up the use of the filibuster during the Obama years? I'm in an argument with someone and he has taken issue with calling Republican obstructionism unprecedented. I did some googling but I couldn't find the articles/ graphics I remember seeing on the topic.

If we're going to play that stupid game, Clinton wouldn't have banned refugees from Syria and other wartorn countries. She wouldn't have tried to ban all Muslims from entering the United States either. But I thought you voted for Trump because he was supposed to be better than Clinton? If something is wrong when Clinton does it, it's wrong when Trump does it. Isn't that right? And CLINTON IS NOT PRESIDENT *******.

The truth is that bombing these countries and closing ourselves off from all refugees does nothing to help the people of the area. In fact we are only making the situation worse. Sean Spicer even admitted that the administration's goal is to destabilize the region.
