There might be qualifications to this, like maybe the coal produced today is of lesser quality, but the actual amount is way higher now than it was in like the 50s or 60s or whatever. And I think you'd find something similar if you checked manufacturing numbers.

More educated is the school's problem. High school was a lot harder a long time ago, need to go back to that and challenge the kids instead of teachers just being a babysitter with a degree and boring all the smart kids to death.

HS isn't *that* much different for my kids than it was for me other than people care about grades a LOT more now. The earlier grades had way way more work than they did in my day though.

I think high school is fundamentally worse because of the advancement of standard tests over the last 25-30 years. They are awful and absolutely havd lead to inferior education.

And what are we doing? The Saudis are fighting along side Al Queda in this war. This is ****ed up way beyond all recognition. This is going to be a humanitarian crisis ten thousand times worse than the gas attack. This is going to make Americans less safe. Who is this done for?
