for those of you who don't know the dude in the chair is a young dan quayle, he was vice president from 1988-1992 and ran 3 failed presidential campaigns that received suprisingly little media attention.

That Presidential cartoon is badass. I counted a couple times. There's exactly 43 Presidents in that cartoon. Exactly 43 men have been President Now I can't actually recognize each face but I'm impressed nevertheless.

I really like the art a lot. So is Obama standing on the constitution? Why is there money on the floor? Why is the American flag flying half-mast?

Even though I don't get it I like it a lot.

Now I really don't get it.

The Forgotten Man - Jon McNaughton

Forty-two well-off White Anglo-Saxon Christian males just hanging out.

FDR giving, what looks like, a standing ovation. (TS?)

Let's glorify flawed old white men.

It still makes zero sense. Reagan and Washington pointing out the plight of the common man? That's pretty loltastic.

That dude is crazy. His one nation under god painting is creepy.

Oh it's THAT guy. Now it makes sense. Well, it still doesn't, but it explains the theocratic, fascist vibe I get from this "cartoon."

Yeah, his message is a little ******ed. But I still love the art. I hope to see more of his work.

Shouldn't about fifteen of those presidents be checking Obama's teeth?

Teddy Roosevelt is not impressed with his characterization.

CC,

Having lived in the Salt Lake valley his 801 area code is from the Wasatch front and the artist is likely LDS.

The imagery of Jesus with Meso-Americans or Jesus influencing the founding is very strong among many Mormons.

Our artist probably got his inspiration from this illustration I have seen in various religious texts in Utah:

Yeah it had a few decent parts, but a lot of hilariously bad stuff.

From his explanation of the one nation under god painting

Lol, lots of other good stuff in there

That cartoon has the right idea in general, but I'm pretty sure it was not done by a scientist, because the current system does a dismal job with the sciences as well as the arts.

I was trying to figure out what it was saying outside. It probably does a worse job with hard sciences than the arts even. Standardized testing sounds like something reasonable (measure actual performance of students), but implementation never achieves that goal.

It says "science" on the mountain, and "world history" in the tree. It seems to criticize government education on it all.

Too hard to see that, probably easier in the actual paper, but seems like a great cartoon then.

Ah. Yeah, I completely missed those. Speaking as someone who's about to make schooling decisions for his kids, yeah, I agree a lot.
