Yeah, id be more concerned if people thought animal testing was wrong and that apes deserve human rights.

As I mentioned, I was pretty close to agreeing with the second contention, but not for what I assume most people think the standard reasons might be.

I use the same metric to judge the rights we grant to animals that I do to judge the rights we grant to human beings, in other words. I don't think this is too controversial, but it means that if suddenly a super intelligent ape arose I'd believe him to be deserving of the same rights as a similar human.
