As Santa Fe High School was on lockdown Friday morning with an active shooter situation, a man who appeared to be open-carrying a handgun near the school while holding an American flag was there to "make America great again."
The man spoke to KHOU-TV near the scene of a deadly school shooting in south Houston and said he arrived to "offer support." The man also appeared to be open-carrying a handgun on his hip when he walked away from the news crews. The man carried an American flag on a pole.
Even worse than the guy with the gun was the guy mad at him...

"That's not what America needs. America needs prayers," the unidentified man said. "I believe in the Second Amendment but this guy is walking into a crime scene with a pistol on him. I hope they get him because this is an embarrassment.
Santa Fe is the heart of Trump country, exurban Houston. The fact that the left wing local response is "we don't need guns, we need prayers" is standard.
As always, it'll be interesting to see the ludicrous "categorization of the shooter to see who scores political points" thing play out. It's absurd that that's the field we're playing on, as if the important variable is who uses the powerful weapons we're allowed to own almost without restriction to murder many children.
This one school shooting, and it seems like there are 22 in 2018 alone in the USA, has resulted in more deaths than the last 5 years in the whole of Europe.
Seems like our prayers work better. Pray harder guys.
Trump supporter on Facebook at 10:30am today - so like minutes after news of this shooting broke - posted a good guy with a gun link from some recently thwarted school shooting.
But damn it we better wait a few days to discuss it or else we're evil for politicizing the issue!

We've lost more children that we sent off to school than soldiers we've sent off to Afghanistan in 2018.
Dimitrios Pagourtzis, the suspected gunman who*opened fire at a Texas high school*on Friday morning, apparently posted photos of neo-Nazi iconography online, according to social media accounts flagged by classmates and reviewed by The Daily Beast.
I do want to note that when horrible people claim these guys would have just used other things to kill if they didn’t have guns, their bombs apparently killed nobody, their guns, ten people.

The Columbine killers also tried bombs, but they didn’t go off.
