Except for the smallest number of people (no regulars included), you guys have been great tonight. For all the disagreements and whatever else, I still think this is easily one of the best politics forums on the internet.

It's been great going back and forth through all this tonight with so many of 2+2's best people. It stayed fun throughout, and I'm pretty proud of the site tonight. Thanks for wanting to spend at least part of your election night here.
THANKS BUCKO!

Let's stay on topic and not talk about how the Spurs are 0-3, look older than McCain, and got completely destroyed tonight at home by the allegedly lottery-bound Mavs. Thanks.

Instantly gaining back credibility when Obama hasn't even taken office... and you don't see anything wrong with that?

The difference is only Republicans try and make it a major campaign platform.

So it's ok to support bans against gay marriage, its just not ok to say it publicly?

Not at all. He's ~6 weeks from taking office. The statement has been made.

Do you doubt that if the world was polled our likability rating wouldn't be higher tomorrow than it was yesterday?

This line of reasoning is a 100% contradiction of anyone who supports California Prop 8 or any of the "marriage is under attack" initiatives. Which is pretty much anyone on the right wing.

What was the Phillies celebration like after the long delay in winning the series? Didn't see it. The ungodly battle where you don't even have energy, physically or mentally, left to celebrate at the end. Tiger Woods at the PGA over Sergio acted oddly subdued, exhausted, and just relieved it was over. Buster Douglas over Tyson was that way a little. Ali over Frazier III was that way. Occassionally there is the epic, epic win that leaves nothing left to even enjoy it. Should have been a four word speech: "Chicago!!!! long pause..... "America!!!! We win!!"

there shouldn't be a real congrads now. just as if mccain was elected i want the president ot be responsible for the actions he makes in the white house and i want a postiive change. unless obama does that, there is no real congrads to be had now. will have to see what happens. i hope obama points us back in the positive direction. the last 4 years there has been a huge disconnect between the president and the populus, this has to and will hopefully will change. it's not much better in the house and senate and maybe worse, but there needs to be a definite improvement there.

538 nailed the election. NH, Nate and Sean.

Federal taxes are only part of it. When you add in state, sales, property, half your money is gone.

I did not say he (Obama) would take away all our freedoms. The trend the govt has had is to incrementally take away our freedoms. You really believe we are getting more free as a country????? There are laws upon laws upon laws and they keep adding new ones every ****ing year!!!! Hell in many dem controlled states you can't smoke a cigarette in a ****ing bar.

Where exactly did I mention the Bush administration????? I have several posts in this forum stating my dislike for both major party candidates. Don't read in things you want to believe of people just because they don't buy the line your fave candidate is selling.

I didn't say it wasn't true, I asked if you thought anything was wrong with that or not.

Not the same thing. Obama is not for gay marriage and was against Prop 8.

Wow, bluefox's posts in this thread are tilting.

As a democrat, it was so painful watching the election nights in 2000 and 2004, just agonizingly close defeats with drama that lasted weeks.

Then to put up with 8 years of what will go down as one of the worst administrations in our country's history.

Tonight... a landslide victory... it felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders.
