No, it really kinda sucked. It was robotic and didn't remotely reach its potential. But he didn't get shot in the face so it was something of a success.

All those tears and bleeding hearts... I hope they don't get de-hydrated.

Too stump speech like imo. Oh well, it finished well, or at least better than the first half.

I thought the speech was humble, conciliatory and centrist which is all I ever wanted. Good speech BO.

Obama deliberately tones it down sometimes, this was one of those times. He was hired to do a job, now it's time to start.
11-05-2008 , 01:18 AM
WAT? Biden was there???
11-05-2008 , 01:18 AM
Did he even mention Joe Biden once?
11-05-2008 , 01:18 AM
it really does look like his grandmother dying took a lot out of Obama

Goofy, that's just so wrong it's absurd. Tax reform, school vouchers, medical savings accounts, etc. Some things may seem politically difficult, but it doesn't mean the systems themselves can't transform.

That was a pretty lame speech. Sounded like he was in campaign mode still, and it was cliched. McCain's speech pretty much rocked.

I probably share many of Borodog's views, but tonight's not the night. We got the next four years to do that.

He was a little off his game, but then, the woman who raised him just died yesterday.
11-05-2008 , 01:18 AM
I think he looks a bit overwelmed and exsauted, who can blame him really.
11-05-2008 , 01:19 AM
Obama looks completely drained all of a sudden. And I don't doubt that he is.
11-05-2008 , 01:19 AM
**** the haters, this is soooooo awesome.

JEEZ! If you're going to insult somebody, at least be grammatically correct!
11-05-2008 , 01:19 AM
Look at him, losing your granny a day before you get elected PotUS must really hurt.
11-05-2008 , 01:19 AM
Speech was pretty underwhelming imo. Although my expectations were sky-high I guess. Would've been nice to see just the slightest bit of emotion but I guess you have to programmed out of that to do what he's doing.
11-05-2008 , 01:19 AM
I'm not saying this was a great speech, but to those criticizing, what do you want from the speech?

McCain's speech is much easier to pull off. Say nice things about Obama, thank people, don't be a jerk. Obama has to somehow outdo just showing up and being president, which is pretty impressive.

Michelle's dress is wtf.

WA is looking good for Gregoire and Burner, the one really ****ty initiative didn't pass. Happy Dids tonight.

The fact that you would have said the same thing had McCain won, or as I surmise just about anybody else, doesn't preclude that you were campaigning against Obama. You were hoping he'd lose, weren't you?
11-05-2008 , 01:20 AM
Wow, I thought it was strange he didn't mention biden much...and he was there too lol.

Government needs to get the **** away from religion, and vice versa. One of the biggest arguments for Prop 8 was that allowing gay marriage would put tax-exempt status for religious institutions at risk. Why the **** do these institutions get tax exempt status exactly? Damn right that institutions that remain securely fastened to the public's teat should treat everyone equally. ****.

And who the **** is the government to say who is "married" and who isn't? Why should a piece of paper mean ****-all? Who gives a flying **** at a swinging donut? Does society really have such a great interest in promoting these contracts? Do we really need to encourage morons to have more kids?

Gay people aren't allowed to marry, I want to see a divorce penalty. I want to see straight married couples without children stripped of any special status they enjoy.

Conrgatulations, America. We took a big step today, but we've got a long way to go.
I just didn't want this to not get quoted. I really like what you're throwing out in this post LFS.
