As you all know, Obama has given a Social security holiday for next year, valued at $120 billion. Dems are also attempting to give a social security payment of $250 to seniors, totaling $14 billion. Then there is quantitative easing which, the story goes, will have a stimulative effect.

The question is: Is this Obama's plan: a stimulus that's a patchwork of different, easier to swallow, policies? If so, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the plan?

It seems to me that the advantages would be a better economy in 2012 if the stimulus works out, but without the big target of a stimulus package for Republicans to pummel on the radio. An obvious disadvantage would be that it would be harder for him to take credit for an economic turnaround, especially since, even if they pass nothing, the Republican house will be taking credit too.

I wouldn't be surprised if early next year Obama proposes spending that would get Republicans excited: say a 12 foot border fence made out of confiscated morning after pills.

Gotta be a public relations nightmare for someone.....

easy spin..

You won't raise taxes on the millionaires but you won't give the poor destitute, sickly old people a few extra loaves of bread for the year.
