Just heard Michael Crichton died. Great writer. Obviously a politically polarizing figure with his anti-global warming stance, very pro science perspective. Figured some in politics would either very much agree or disagree with his positions. Loved his work, particularly Rising Son and Timeline.

Sighted in our new Savage 110 (30-06) for deer season. Shoots pretty accurately out of the box. I only got about 3 shots between myself, dad, and bro, but they were all within an inch of each other and about an inch and a half from dead center.

Not sure if this belongs here or in one of the election threads, but yesterday I was walking out of one of the campus dining places and a gaggle of College Dems were standing with some signs about voting. One girl asked, "Did you vote today?"

I said, "Nope."

She asked, "Well...are you going to?"

"No, I'm not." I said.

And that stunned her. Total "deer in the headlights" look on her face. I probably got more satisfaction out of that then I ever would have voting.
