Of course some of them do. It is not a reason to not regulate the practice, just as some people wanting to ban guns is an absolutely ****ing ******ed reason to oppose checking if someone is a felon or crazy before selling them a murder machine.

You are incorrect. I have stated several times and I will again for you here because you seem incapable of grasping the subject, there are some among those who advocate for more legislation in regards to guns that ultimately want a gun ban. I have also stated that those who value the right to bear arms are aware of this and it is getting in the way of the laws we should pass like the background check bill.

Since you think I am a conspiracy theorist lets see what the gallup poll says on the subject.

24% support a gun ban
http://www.gallup.com/poll/1645/Guns.aspx

So it seems you are undeniably wrong. Have a nice day.

Rivermania, we already do that. Not regulate the practice? What planet do you live on?

Trolly's pick for troll of the week comes from the great state of Missouri, where a theater owner thought it would be great fun to have guys with body armor and fake guns storm a screening of Iron Man 3. One veteran got trolled so hard, it triggered his PTSD! Nice!

So because a fraction of the population support a gun ban I'm wrong about... what, exactly? Also, how does that show you are not a conspiracy theorist.

Are you saying you DON'T think a slippery slope is happening now? This seems like its one of those times where pilkain gets caught tries to sculpt his view just enough so that nothing can stick and he keep posting nonsense....

Trolly,

That's not really trolling, just idiocy. That dude better hope his insurance premiums are up to date, though something that stupid may fall outside his coverage anyway.

It says that position has been steadily ticking down since 1959, when it polled at 60%.

Why will these small changes that can't get passed or barely get passed, lead to more drastic changes? Like, why will all the people currently against these moderate changes, suddenly become willing to accept drastic changes?

Dude, you said Diane Feinstein was the only person (your emphasis). That's all. I don't have to think there's a huge movement to take issue with you overreaching in the other direction.

FWIW people on several gun rights forums are ripping this theatre owner a new *******. This was just flatly stupid no matter what side of the gun debate you support.

Seriously. Exactly nothing good could have come from that. Idiocy at its finest.

only person= only person with influence.... that's not too hard to glean from the context.Lots of people believe and advocate for weird and incorrect things, what is that supposed to prove?

If you're going to lie about numbers, you might do better to exclude the link that proves you're lying.

You are obviously being intentionally obtuse. 24% of the population supports a gun ban. There are 311 million people in the USA. Over 70 million people support a gun ban. But you are still claiming that only a handful of people are advocating for a gun ban? Please explain your logic.

I never said ' a handful of people' I scoffed at the idea of you quoting random people from this message board as evidence of something

As I said, lots of people advocate for weird and incorrect ideas, so? Last year Gallup found that nearly half the population rejects evolution...

I use the term loosely, as a form of meta-trolling.

Title of a page using most of the same data:

Americans Want Stricter Gun Laws, Still Oppose Bans

Stricter law support up 15%, those in favor of a hand gun ban down to the lowest point ever measured, 24%.

Ill make it easy for you two Low Key and Sommerset. Is 24% of 311 million more or less than Diane Feinstein and "a handful of other people"?
