Goofy,

Is this a potential fit for the FBI case that was linked?

https://imagetragick.com/

Compromise said site, put an image file on it that the user is accessing through imagemagick, pwn user? It may not work that way, but I bet it was something similar.

Maybe the FBI will take on the case again lol

Italian court rules food theft 'not a crime' if hungry

Quote:
Judges overturned a theft conviction against Roman Ostriakov after he stole cheese and sausages worth €4.07 (£3; $4.50) from a supermarket.

Mr Ostriakov, a homeless man of Ukrainian background, had taken the food "in the face of the immediate and essential need for nourishment", the court of cassation decided.

Therefore it was not a crime, it said.

Yeah I'm good with it.

Buying a house this summer hopefully sooner rather than later. It is NOT a buyer's market. May god help us.

UPDATE ON THE LICENSE PLATE:

We decided that the old version of the license plate was totally unacceptable, so we designed a new one. Well it's the same design but we gave "the sower" a smaller penis.

So poors can just take food with no penalty and the owners get no compensation. Some kind of food stamp or, even better, UBI program seems much better.

This sounds like you have weighed up the pros and cons and decided to shrug and buy anyway.

Is it just that the ancillary benefits like doing what you want to the place outweighs poor financials or some other reason?

I've been thinking about how ill be potentially buying in 18-24 months so curious about your thought process.

Avoiding people being so desperate that stealing food is the reasonable* option has to be far better but if we fail to do that then what's the purpose of using the force of the law?

It's a good thing to allow real desperation as a defense because (apart from being humanitarian) it's providing the right social feedback towards tackling the problem of desperate poverty rather than hiding the problem away.

*by reasonable I mean what pretty much any of us would do if we were literally starving.

Yeah i'm sure everyone will be much kinder to the poors now that they're allowed to just steal things. Shopkeeps gonna love having those guys hanging around.

Is this the same Italian court that put those scientists in jail for not predicting the exact timing of a deadly earthquake?
05-04-2016 , 03:03 PM
That was Italy, yes

I'm not suggesting that at all.

I'm saying they will find it unacceptable and put pressure on the authorities to do something about it.

That can be bad if course but if it's not a crime then far more likely that the problem of extreme poverty will come under the spotlight.

Intense forest fire in Fort MacMurray, Alberta and surrounding area. Over 88,000 people evacuated from their homes so far. The wind just blew it into the city, jumping over rivers and highways to get there. Everyone has had to evacuate right away on very short notice and a lot of people didn't have time to prepare water and food or get fuel before escaping the inferno. There's deserted cars all along the highway. The images and videos are crazy.

This couple brings a chipper, tour-guide spirit to their evacuation.

So does this mean gas prices are going up?

Lol, llsnl LC thread got shut down for three days due to politarding. Some regs there hated my politics posts, but I don't think they understood that I don't want politics discussed there and I basically wanted to ensure that any political talk descended into a complete AIDSfest. I never started it and they figured out how to get a group punishment without me.

This, Leicester City, Trump. It all feels a bit apocalyptic. What's Putin up to? Chinese premier is turning out to be a bit of a mess.

As I mentioned, the right to keep and bear arms is a God-given right.

So whether the gun grabbers like it or not, I'm giving away an AR-15 to one lucky supporter.

That supporter could be you.

Meanwhile, the governor of Arizona decided it was better to cut health benefits for low income children rather than confront zealots in the state government.. Like most recently elected R governors, Ducey basically a sick joke that isn't funny.

While we're in the topic of Italy doing weird things, one of my coworkers said how she was probably born lefty but discouraged from using her left hand. I joked that she went to school in Medieval Italy; turns out it was relatively recent Italy where they still hit you for using your left hand.

The Romans really hated lefties. Must have carried over.
05-04-2016 , 08:50 PM
Lefties are sinister.
