I didn't see that woman who got punched spray anybody with anything. Maybe she did but I see her reacting to the person who is behind her throwing or spraying something that hits both her and the officer.
I watched it frame by frame but I could be wrong.

WTF?

Canadians sex in the street during riots?

Read somewhere that she was spraying silly-string, which looks plausible according to the video, I think.

So our choices are to either be cool with people throwing water on you or allow you to punch people in the face? Is there no door #3?

Yes, that was not part of the you tube video that was posted. As I said I watched it frame by frame and did not see her do anything. That is why I made no judgement and just expressed my opinion on what I had seen. I am always open to new information.

It's the first like 2 seconds.

Sorry, I don't see that in the first two seconds as posted on the you tube video.
I mean the first video posted on you tube. The one that is 36 seconds long. Yes there appears to be a longer video posted later. Yes I saw that one too. Are you saying that one should wait to get different viewpoints and as much information as possible before you take a position?
That is what I said. Based on the first video looking at it frame by frame I see nothing that woman did that was wrong. If more information is presented then I will reevaluate. Is that hard to understand?

Is it too much to ask for you to actually watch the videos that are itt? The water throwing (or silly string) is in the 36 second vid posted in line before you ever posted. It's also in the .gif posted immediately after it. So, umm, yeah I think your position is a little hard to understand.

Yes, you are correct happy_ fish. Took me some time to see that. I think I am going to stop drinking as it obviously should not be my hobby in my retirement. She clearly has something in her hand and you can see some substance spraying from what she holds.

This episode has made me worry as i have only been retired 3 years and I am 57. Bike riding and drinking is obviously not enough to keep my brain working. Thank you.

Nah, I was defending the act of arresting people for spraying water.

Clearly that's unneccessary to make an arrest, at least as an initial response.
10-02-2012 , 10:45 PM
I think we need to do something about body odor. Who here hasn't ever been assaulted by someone's BO? It should be an arrestable offense, clearly.

Our dignified boys in blue are already getting sprayed with water, we can't have them assaulted with BO.

Perfect example of why cops don't want you to be able to film them.

This news surprised me. It's still open to the "all actions were within department guidelines" though.

This is brilliant 3nd level trolling. I honestly can't tell if you mean that or not.

In any event of course this isn't appropriate. I'd actually go against the grain and argue in favor of arrest here, because hey tossing water on unwilling people on the street is a dick move, but no I have a supreme level of confidence that wasn't necessary to accomplish arrest.

he does

Are you serious?

I mean I get LirvA gonna LirvA but c'mon.

If some random asshat just came up to you and chunked water on you intentionally, when it was quite clear to intelligent people you did not desire water be thrown on you, you just think the cops should be all "It's just water, sorry, wash it off!"?

I mean if the cops DON'T intervene, this moron is probably going to catch a far worse assault than she did.

As I said, the cop overreacted in his physical approach. I have no issue with the arrest.
