Apparently Kaiser is raising rates 30% this year, and UHC is going to try and undercut that, but they could end up with a big loss doing so.
Sure they can be making huge profits. Insurance companies are just spawn of Satan, and can just cut costs without ever worrying about losing customers. They will fire off all but one person and make them do all the work, and profit even more!

The real question is why any politician that accepts any money from insurance companies as donations can morally vote on this bill. They should vote present. Obama let congress write the bill. That is why it is basically a health care industry bill. Medicare deductions for back rubs.

Obama should scrap the bill, and have a team of scientists, economists, and doctors write bill to provide a health care system with 85 average annual lifespan and lowest cost.

Just as many conflicts of interest there.

Any chance Olbermann realizes this is may be a viable solution to providing care for the poor?

It is a bit different because Keith was on sportscenter and he was a well known sportscaster before he started covering politics.
I remember the first time i clicked on msnbc and he was doing his show I was like "Olberman is covering politics, wtf?" I was also suprised at how liberal he was. Olberman is a sports commentater doing political commentary where Rush was a political commentator doing sports commentary.

Limbaugh does have a little sports history before his radio show. He worked for the Kansas City Royals for a short time...back when the Royals were an actual sports team.

Under "Professional career and rise to fame: 1970's" It mentions his job as director of promotions for the Royals.

Yeah, not worth the effort. I liked Olbermann on SC and thought I'd like him on MSNBC. Now he's my least favorite person on TV, even worse than Tucker Carlson or James Carville.

Olbermann and Patrick= Best Sportscenter duo ever. It's not even close. Based on his Sportscenter days alone he gets a pass from me for life.

Humana:
Profit of $282 million off $7.9 billion in revenue. That's 3.6%.

Ironic part it was mostly thanks to medicare.

Watch

$281.8 million this quarter vs. $209.9 million same quarter last year >>> 3.6% profit.

Adding up the last four quarters = $844.6M = record profits.

It's best to not call someone a ****** then go on to make such a bad mistake imo. He's talking about profit margin ldo.

Profit margin <> record profits which is what Obama is talking about LDO

That's great, but it's not what was being talked about in this exchange. Not to mention you said 3.6% <<<<<<< than the increase over last year, which is a pretty clear indication that you made the mistake I accused you of.

You owe an apology imo.
10-09-2009 , 01:49 AM
I'm sorry you and other people don't know what profit means.

What bothers me more than his opinions is that he doesn't even pretend to have any sort of real discussion. The whole show is just him stating his opinions as fact with the occasional guest that agrees with everything he says, which makes you wonder why are they even there.

I think the right wing talk show hosts draw bigger numbers because they tend to be more entertaining. They figured out it's more entertaining to have people on that disagree with you that you can yell at (O'Reilly) instead of just trotting out lemmings that agree with everything you say.

Anyway, I think these crying incidents are phony publicity stunt moves.
