My neighbor was suspended from the LA city fire Department (with pay of course) for I think a couple of months – for allegedly surfing the web on company time on her computer. She had to check in in the morning and afternoon, and be on call at all times to prove that she was sitting at home, not doing anything.

I'm not sure how it was resolved but eventually she went back to work. Supposedly the sites in question were a bunch of black fashion and haircare product shopping sites (she's white). Apparently someone in the office had a grudge against her and managed to get control of her computer, then anonymously turned her in to management.

The point is a lot of stupid petty childish **** goes on in these environments. When you create rules that treat people like children, their eventually going to act like children. It wouldn't shock me if this was something very trivial and one coworker decided to turn in another over a grudge.

I once got all in on the flop against a Rastafarian who had air only to have him runner runner a straight flush. But he was so nice and friendly that I was just happy for him.
