Check ANES? World values survey?

Pew Research would be another possibility.

I'm not really finding what I'm looking for. Exit surveys that identify issues of most importance by quintile is what I'm after. Gotta be out there but I suck at the internet.

When you're done with that, can you knock yourself out on this one?

I have yet to hear of a criminal that was deterred from illegal actions, by the law. Can you imagine one thinking....I better not shot that guy and take his money because its against the law. Absurd! So are attempts to deter gun violence, for the same reason. Those that commit such heinous acts don't care about the law.

It is predicated on a belief that all gun violence is perpetrated by those 'thugs' on the street and ignores all other gun violence, including suicide. Use of firearms is almost entirely explanatory so far as answering why it is women attempt suicide 3x as much as men but men commit suicide 3x as much as women. Men use guns far more often.

and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should.

For our children.

It probably is just serendipity, but it seems fairly straightforward: White Republicans are in power, other people are not, and gerrymandering helps the people to understand that.
10-05-2017 , 02:35 PM
That makes no sense.

I think she's trying to same something along the lines of the original purported intent of gerry-mandering - to keep like-minded communities together. So say a black community is strung out along some boundary between two white communities. They presumably would want one voice representing them and would know who that person is from talking at the barbershop or w/e. Whereas if you chopped them up they wouldn't know who their rep is, or they'd have different reps to complain to, which would dilute their clout on issues the black community cares about.

Of course she mangles the whole point so badly it's hard to tell.

Really wish they had live audio feeds for scotus hearings. The justices are so good at making elite professionals look like blithering morons

Fox News and now Harvey Weinstein. Though Weinstein has been rumored for a while

Quote:
An investigation by The New York Times found previously undisclosed allegations against Mr. Weinstein stretching over nearly three decades, documented through interviews with current and former employees and film industry workers, as well as legal records, emails and internal documents from the businesses he has run, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.

Apparently the oral arguments for the defendants were presented in rap form. Seems like a poor choice to me but IANAL.

One time stay a cat 1 so I can drink all weekend and have Monday off.

JFC - imagine looking like Harvey Weinstein and wanting girls to see you naked as your first move. How drunk with power do you have to be? Oh yeah baby. Like what you see? Here let me pull a few rolls out of the way and find my penis. It only gets better from here.

But I really enjoy hearing Nina Totenberg read the transcripts on NPR, especially when she gives Justice Roberts a silly Jamaican accent.

THE PRESIDENT: What a job the Coast Guard has done throughout this whole -- throughout this whole ordeal. (Applause.) They would go right into the middle of that -- I mean, I don't know, I wouldn’t want to be doing it, but I want to thank everybody. I want to thank the Coast Guard. They are special, special, very brave people.

And a lot of people got to see the real Coast Guard during this incredible trouble, and especially I think here and in Texas was incredible what they did. So thank you all very much. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Really appreciate it.

Would you like to say something on behalf of your men and women?
Spoiler:
Quote:
AIR FORCE REPRESENTATIVE: Sir, I’m representing the Air Force.

THE PRESIDENT: No, I know that.

Your daily reminder that the actual difference between insane Brietbart commenters who type in all caps and Republican elected officials is null:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer...azi-rally.html

Quote:
The Republican Party has a high and rising number of powerful officials who have completely insane beliefs. One of those people, not heretofore identified as an open member of the party’s stark-raving-loony wing, is Representative Paul Gosar, of Arizona, who tells Elspeth Reeve of Vice News that the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville this summer was actually a false flag operation by leftists, possible including George Soros
Quote:
VICE News: In fairness, antifa is in the news because of a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville.

GOSAR: Well, isn’t that interesting. Maybe that was created by the Left.

VICE News: Why do you say that?

GOSAR: Because let’s look at the person that actually started the rally. It’s come to our attention that this is a person from Occupy Wall Street that was an Obama sympathizer. So, wait a minute, be careful where you start taking these people to.

And look at the background. George Soros is one of those people that actually helps, you know, back these individuals. Who is he? I think he’s from Hungary. I think he was Jewish. And I think he turned in his own people to the Nazis. We better be careful where we go with those.

VICE News: Do you think George Soros funded the neo-Nazis who marched in Charlottesville?

GOSAR: Wouldn’t it be interesting to find out?
Healthy country we have here. "He turned in his own people to the Nazis" is literally like nut low conspiratarding, like when you see that one online, even average right wing ******s are like hold on a second there fella, let's not embarrass ourselves here, that one doesn't make any sense, let's keep it respectable, George Soros was definitely behind the Access Hollywood video release, orchestrated Sandy Hook and probably did Benghazi but c'mon guys we know he didn't hand Jews over the Nazis, he was a small child, get real.

And this Republican congressman just casually repeats it to a journalist like it's common wisdom.
10-05-2017 , 04:43 PM
Soros should just start dropping libel suits to crush these people with legal fees.
10-05-2017 , 04:46 PM
not worth it, they will be all WHAT IS SOROS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH THAT'S WHAT
