They are able to act collectively, they're in a union. How does a shirt claiming that Black Lives Matter create a hostile work environment for them?

Spoiler:
it doesn't

Police and other emergency responders aren't supposed to be allowed to refuse unsafe work, let alone hostile work. (In Canada.)
(Because the work is unsafe by it's nature, I guess.)

Yeah, we pretty much need to enable the police to ban any protest that makes them uncomfortable.

The shirts included solidarity for the cops in Dallas. So very hostile to police weren't they?

WNBA has security? There's more people at little league games.

I don't blame the cops from blocking protestors from blocking freeways, its dangerous for the protestors and the drivers, but the idea behind blocking freeways isn't hard to understand.

How many times a day do you pat yourself on the back for your superior intelligence and tolerance? I mean you can change the exact thing you wrote to refer to you by simply removing "unwashed chattering internet white kid class" to "white caped internet justice crusader". You have been saying the same thing for literally years and 50,000 posts and there is nothing new or novel about any of it. You aren't wrong but damn how do you not get sick of saying the same thing over and over day in and day out. And at the same time acting like you are some intellectually superior poster is just incredibly lol.

Not sure why you guys are taking Campfirewest seriously. He doesn't actually believe it's a hostile work environment, it's just one of those phrases that liberals spout then they're refusing the sexual advances of their bosses.

Police union reps are the ****ing worst

They were working as independently contracted security personnel

Marge Gunderson would have stayed, preggers and all.

Lol I love that people actually think this way. Has anyone ever met a real live cop itt? It doesn't seem like it. News flash, they just want to do their job and go home to their wife and kids, like everyone else.

And yeah, an atmosphere of hatred towards the police will impact recruitment. People like to be respected for the work they do, not hated. Especially when it's a job that consists of service to others. The respect is one of the intangible perks that makes up for lousy pay, crappy hours, and bad working conditions.

Like I said cops are one of the few groups of people in this country who actually give a s**t about poor people in the most dangerous communities. You guys can keep babbling away on the internet, they are actually out there, helping people on a daily basis. In return, they are hated. Especially by the very people they serve. I can't see why people won't be lining up to sign up for that. Get to work in the country's most dangerous neighborhoods, and risk your life to protect people who hate your guts. Sounds like a dream job.
07-13-2016 , 10:02 PM
So why do they murder so many black people?

Welp, no way to have cops be respected for their profession other than to shield them from consequences or criticism when they murder people. Go home, black people, and make sure you are duly respectful of the cops who shot your friend, and whatever you do, don't suggest any ways that cops could actually be have like a respectable profession by doing things like not murdering people and prosecuting those who do.

Oh and don't get all uppity and complain when someone who did everything by the right wing black person's behavior handbook (including get a concealed carry permit!) but still gets pulled over for minor traffic violations 51 times and doesn't survive the 52nd.
07-13-2016 , 10:46 PM
Guys, revots doesn't just know a cop, he also knows someone who watched the wire!
07-13-2016 , 11:26 PM
Oh man, black basketball players definitely rustling white jimmies tonight.
07-13-2016 , 11:31 PM
Surprise no one mentions how many cops take steroids. Why aren't cops who are involved in shootings immediately tested for drugs or steroids?

Is there more than the above?

revots- Cops themselves are probably not the most trustworthy source on this issue, but if that's where we're going with this, how many poor black people do you know?

Jesus Christ this **** is on VIDEO. Dead people. Human ****ing beings.
07-14-2016 , 12:10 AM
Like black people hating cops is not a decision black people made unilaterally just to **** with revots' racist friends self-esteem.

Decisions have consequences. Simpering racists are ALL ABOUT putting themselves in the cops shoes and talking about how the cop got scared or whatever, but that empathy never extends to poor people or minorities. Weird, huh?

Philandro Castile didn't get to go home. Goddamn this myopic focus on the feelings OF OTHER PEOPLE (it's not even revots personally) is such bull****.

So IMO, this type of protest defeats the purpose of the long term goal.
You are basically saying you'd agree that the mistreatment and murder of black people by cops is an issue, but since you were inconvenienced in traffic you don't care.

If all it takes for you to not care is a traffic issue, you were never going to listen.

The blue wall of silence is a massive issue. The perception that "good" cops don't speak out against "bad" cops makes it seem as if those good cops aren't so good after all.

At some point, police in this country will need to clear their ranks of the bad apples instead of getting offended by t-shirts if they want to have their profession be respected again.

BLM have released a 10 point manifesto. All looks pretty reasonable although point 5 looks dubious (might be hard to achieve in some areas).

BLM is not a real thing. They have no membership rules, no officers, no elections, no dues, no headquarters, no newsletter.

People seem to understand this about the "tea party".
