surprisingy barry lost a point in gallup rv. seems like some decent numbers for mitt in rv this week since sunday of last week one could deduce was a huge day for barry. rand lead for barry grows by 4 in last few days, barry picks up 4 in ibd in same, and ppp confirms nbc and cnn that ohio is fine and early voters are energized for barry. and from yesterday gallup stays the same in lv, and ras +1 for mitt.

nate makes a good point of the disconnect between these rv - lv numbers and the huge turnout that dems are seeing in early voting. might be dems are down big from places like cali, heck i might not even vote lol why bother. i will , but last year was like yeah gonna vote for first black prez!...now, f it, we got it in cali and no senate nothing going on, still will prolly get to it on election day...

so my point is, in the states that matter, iowa, ohio, florida, the numbers are looking better for dems than in 08. they are energized and getting out at much higher rate. for the first time, i think we could really see a mitt popular vote win and barry edging in the ec. that would be dangerous for the country imo.

Didn't Gore win the popular vote in 2000? It wouldn't be the first time the winner lost the popular vote.

Gore won the pop vote by .5% and lost FL by <1k votes. The chances of Romney winning the pop vote by 2%+ and lose the EC are really small.

yeah now that i think about it, i bet there are a lot of dudes like me here in the most populous state that are saying if vote sure gonna be barry but u know not sure i will bother, and new york, and illinois, all the populous dem states. but in texas or georgia, every racist hick kenyon hater is chompin at the bit to get to the polls even though it dont matter for them either as they are locks for mitt. hannity and limabaugh got them fired up, so enthused.

but in swing states, man people remember bush, obama campaign reminding them whats at stake, they know they have to get out, and the ground game is pushing them hard.

yeah but liberals dont love guns and like the goverment and dont think barry is a traitor commie facist. timmothy mcviegh types man. but gore v bush does make it easier, if this was the first time i would predict much violence.

Unless there is a big turnaround, this election is going to be a disappointment for Democrats at this point even if Obama ends up winning. A big win might have helped foster more cooperation in Congress and allowed more progress to be made. A narrow victory isn't as likely to change the gridlock status-quo.

probably true. its ironic, if we want a jobs bill with construction jobs, like the one obama wants, easy 1.5 million jobs, mitt would push that through no problem.

There any scientific value to the balloon jump thing, or is it just straight-up attention whoring?
10-14-2012 , 01:46 PM
Hugely scientific, it's leading up to building a suit that they can jump from the ISS in rofl

i would think that air friction would stop the acceleration, like meteors dont got that fast coming in, right? so he is just gonna go all aerodynamic? or he have a boost? or is air friction a figment of my immagination, that if u are that high u just keep speedin up??
10-14-2012 , 02:00 PM

Your thoughts about air friction are right, he is just so high up that the air is very thin.

no air that high up, as he gets lower he'll approach something called terminal velocity. For humans, that's about 120mph.
