It's funny you guys don't get it.

Obama has had "soft" support through the summer. Most people don't want him to be Pres.. Mitt will win pretty big.....and you folks will cry. .LOL

eta: not referring to intrade, but the state of the election itself. how are real american people out there honestly thinking voting mitt in is going to be a good thing for them/the country/anyone other than mitt or tagg
I have no idea, i really don't understand it.
10-23-2012 , 10:26 PM

Markets are not efficient, especially in political betting. In football yo have a lot of info. In politics most people don't do any of their own polling and stats.

people are betting on intrade that mitt romney will win? You really bring nothing to this discussion.

that being said i will probably figure out a way to bet on Pres Obama despite being a huge mitt fan.

I was really going to hold my breathe and wait for election night to reappear, but I had to piss on your bonfire tonight,:........ because you guys have some really flawed logic.
10-23-2012 , 10:32 PM
You're missing it guise, people are trying to massively change perceptions through intrade.

10-23-2012 , 10:33 PM
I am baffled about Intrade. Is there any good reason why Intrade would move so much but not the other books? It seems to me that if you had enough to significantly affect Intrade prices, you wouldn't just be shoving it all on Intrade. You would take the time to get it in on the book with the best price.

Market manipulation is certainly possible -- the argument for trying to produce a self-fullfilling prophecy is pretty strong IMO -- but again, why choose only Intrade when you have to assume that sharps will arbitrage the price back up quickly?

are you a gop fan or a mitt fan? tell me, how does someone become a mitt fan? do you like the fact that he doesn't stand a position? what makes someone like a guy liek mitt, im genuinely curious. thanks in advance

nm i guess i am too late. But if i can get close to even money on Pres Obama i will bet him pretty hard (if ohio continues to look how it is).

Because Intrade gets quoted on CNN, Pinnacle doesn't. That would be my best guess.
