David Duke Threatens To Expose Other Politicians With White Supremacist Ties

Quote:
“If Scalise is going to be crucified — if Republicans want to throw Steve Scalise to the woods, then a lot of them better be looking over their shoulders,” Duke said.
Given that some have said that Scalise called himself "David Duke without the baggage," does this story haunt the GOP or can they navigate it gracefully?

My take is that most GOP politicians really dislike the racist elements in their party, but they haven't figured out a way to keep them quiet. They also seem to be afraid to push back too much, lest a more racist candidate take their place.

And he delivered a warning to both Republicans and Democrats: Treat Scalise fairly, and don’t try to make political hay out of the situation. Or he said he would be inclined to release a list of names of all the politicians — both Republicans and Democrats — with whom he has ties.
Seems like he has the racist goods on both.

EDIT: He should out them all and lets get out the popcorn and enjoy the show!

Duke has ran for office as both a D and R so he probably does know alot. Out them all!!

Amen, sweep. Let's see how racist southern Ds are

And southern Rs

...

Just southerns, I'm assuming. Pretty sure the north has its own version of the klan, Costco maybe?

Meh. It's not exactly a secret that the GOP is the party of bigoted *******s. I suppose when they're hanging out with David Duke instead of Cliven Bundy, the Southern Avenger, or the like, there's less slightly plausible deniability, but this isn't going to change anyone's views.

Lets face it not all Republicans are racist but all racist's are Republican

I think that's the problem for them. The GOP can usually whine about media bias and Al Sharpton any time they get accused of racism, but having GOP power players co-mingle with acknowledged white supremacists is going to naturally garner more mainstream attention. There's a reason right wing blogs have been desperately trying to prove this story false instead of replying with the standard "Sharpton does it too."

As an example of the piss-poor arguments:

What do you think Powerline discussed in their most recent post on Scalise?

A. Al Sharpton and Tawana Brawley
B. Joe Biden
C. A picture of Jerry Brown with Jim Jones
D. Herman Cain getting hate mail
E. Organizing conservative outreach to minority communities

Strike:

Oh, there's one way this could become a big story - for sure.

Back in 1998 when Republicans were trying to impeach Bill Clinton and forcibly remove him from office for having sex with Monica Lewinsky, notorious pornographer (and fellow poker player) Larry Flynt offered a $1,000,000.00 reward to any person coming forward with verifiable information implicating a sitting member of Congress who either engaged in (or was currently engaging in) illicit sexual activity. (Flynt's stated intent was to expose all the hypocrisy among members of Congress, especially Republicans, who were obsessed with going after Bill Clinton.)

Bob Livingston, a Republican from Louisiana who had just been elected Speaker-of-the-House to replace Newt Gingrich, took to the House floor, (on a Saturday morning no less), to open up the impeachment hearings with a dramatic announcement. Livingston announced his immediate resignation from Congress. Larry Flynt had the dirt on Livingston. (Representative Livingston had fathered illegitimate children or had sex with minors or something like that - I can't recall the exact specifics.) Mr. Flynt apparently communicated to Speaker Livingston that if he (and the Republicans) persisted in going after Bill Clinton, his dirty laundry would be aired. Facing this unpleasant reality, Livingston resigned from Congress so that he could really cash in - by becoming a lobbyist.

The Ku Klux Klan has a long history of top Klan members selling out their fellow Klan members by becoming paid Government informants. (This is how the murder of Viola Luizzo was so quickly solved by the FBI in 1965. Klan member Gary Rowe was a paid FBI informant. He ratted out his fellow Klan members literally hours after the crime had been committed.) I wouldn't be surprised if Larry Flynt reprises his act from 1998 and offers a million dollars to any individual (or individuals) who contact him with verifiable proof of a current member of Congress who is a racist or has openly associated with racists - and then lied about it or tried to cover it up.

To make this really fun, Mr. Flynt might offer David Duke $10,000,000.00 (or maybe even $20,000,000.00) to out his [alleged] list. Of course, Mr. Flynt wouldn't offer that kind of money to David Duke unless Duke has really explosive information. It would be popcorn time for sure if Larry Flynt decides it's time to expose blatant hypocrisy among the rich and powerful. If David Duke plays his cards right, he could wind up super rich from this brouhaha by playing the Republicans off against Larry Flynt. He blackmails racist politicians, (I couldn't resist that word - "blackmail"), by threatening to out them if they don't pay him [more than Mr. Flynt is offering him] to keep quite.

Yea, I know ... this sounds like a conspiracy theory or tin foil hat stuff. I imagine people were saying (and thinking) the same thing in 1998 - right up until the moment Larry Flynt made public his million dollar reward for dirt on sitting members of Congress. He's done it once - who's to say he won't do it again?

he considers them race traitors, the ultimate scum in a white supremacist's world view (before poker, i worked for 1.5 years at the bottom rung of a fortune 500 company and was trained for the job by an open and avowed white supremacist who literally thought hitler was a prophet)

WS political types tend to see the political parties like pawns to get played and the enemy. If they can get the world to burn, they can stand on it's ashes and be "supreme".

A more human motive is bitterness and revenge for being rejected. Could be both, or simple hubris.
