You guys are playing with fire. If you think I don't have an ample supply of similarly silly drivel to post, then you got another think a-comin'.

We have a word for people who believe they are entitled to take other people's stuff.

Guess what it is.

Just saw this posted on facebook, Alexander McCobin's (President of Students for Liberty) comments that instigated the gay-bashing idiot Sorba's bigoted remarks at CPAC. I like Alexander's speech.

Since the intelligible end of the reproductive act is reproduction, I propose we make it illegal for infertile people to be married. It makes just as much sense as his comments about civil rights conflicting with natural rights or whatever the hell he was talking about.

Obv any comment based on some imaginary rights is going to end up looking pretty silly :P

Yah, that guy is an idiot. My brother got into a two hour long ("waste of time") debate with him at 4am in the hotel lobby.

Web page of a friend of mine who is running for the PA House of Representatives in District 85 as a Libertarian. He is currently a Borough Councilman and Vice-president of Selinsgrove Council.

From the Sentences You Don't Expect To Find While Reading The Local Newspaper file:

"Nonetheless, all but one of the zombies were taken to the Hennepin County jail, and stayed there for two days."

California assembly approves "cuss-free" week

Quote:
The resolution includes no enforcement mechanism and is simply meant to promote greater harmony and connectedness, said Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, a Democrat from La Canada Flintridge and co-author of the measure.

The disparity in results between "welfare" and "aid to the poor" is a really good example of the effectiveness of the media and right-wing politicians over the past 30 years or so in demonizing the word "welfare" and its recipients.

Aid to the poor = giving a helping hand to people who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

Welfare = lazy, thieving blacks and white-trash who won't even look for a job and just want to live on government money their who lives RRRAAARRRRGGGHHHH

Lol at the idea that the word welfare has been demonized when <50% of self-described "conservatives" think we should cut spending on it.

The problem isn't that welfare has been demonized. Its that it has now apparently become socially acceptable for healthy adults to live completely on the charity of others.

Yeah this is definitely problem #1 here. Hasn't been demonized at all...

I'm not making a point about welfare being good or bad. I'm making the point that when people are asked whether they support government helping the poor, most say yes, but when the question is whether they support welfare, the support is much, much lower. I've seen other studies with exactly the same result.

It's no surprise that when conservatives look to cut aid to the poor, they almost invariably use the word welfare because of the negative images it now conjures up in peoples' minds.

But the amount spent on welfare is several hundred times larger than the amount given in foreign aid.

Check out the corrected version. "Aid to the poor" is separate from "foreign aid." That, to me, clearly means aid to the poor at home.

The vatican can exorcise welfare reciepients last I heard.
