The February LC Thread: The Immigrant Song The February LC Thread: The Immigrant Song

I decided to re-follow all of my friends that I had un-followed on FB to see if I had to unfollow them again.

My aunt lasted about an hour after posting a "live" video of scary protesters dressed in all black getting ready to cause trouble somewhere then something about an Irish magazine being cool with the assassination of Trump.

And 2nd to go back into the unfollow bin is a 2p2er who posted this unironically:

I just cannot. The content of Milo's character. Republicans giving a crap about the content of anyone's character. Republicans not judging on sexual orientation. So many ridiculous false premises to untangle. It's like how schools of fish confuse a predator by all flashing at once.

The version that aired during the game was shortened because the message of the full ad (that hard-working people of all races should be welcome in America) was deemed "too political."

CP's jimmies are mildly rustled by inclusive Super Bowl ads. I thought the trolling was too obvious, but any mention of brown people entering the US is always super effective at triggering them.

This is pretty amazing.

If you are a soulless meat stick willing to whore for fame, gold, or power, we will accept you with open arms, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ....

One point several people have made is that the Coke and Budweiser ads that #triggered the deplorables so badly were completely normal ads. Like, diversity and history and immigration making America great were totally non-partisan ideas from like 1946-2015.

Basic decency is seen as anti-Trump, so all the people getting mad at that **** are really telling on themselves. If Coke re-aired the "want to buy the world a coke" ad yesterday it would've been decried as (((globalist))) multiculti propaganda.

Yep - just like the richest country on earth not letting people die in the streets is somehow a controversial idea to right-wing dogma.

Trumpers must be apoplectic at the Small World ride in Disneyland.
02-06-2017 , 09:29 PM
That ride makes everybody apoplectic.
02-06-2017 , 09:37 PM
I don't remember liking it as a kid, but it was a good ride when my kids were like 2-6.

Just watched full Lumber 84 commercial. lol @ republicans. Legit despicable. Like how hateful do you have to be to boycott a company because of this.
02-06-2017 , 09:51 PM
Does 84 Lumber even exist?
02-06-2017 , 09:52 PM
Pretty ballsy for a lumber yard though, some marketing VP is either a genius or about to be looking for work.

Or else they realize that the people who buy building materials in large quantities aren't super uptight about immigrant labor.

Could be, just an interesting industry to start advertising on the most expensive advertising show of the year.

I've known plenty of guys who completely rely on undocumented immigrant labor to keep their businesses running that are also capable of being outraged at that commercial and eager to boycott the company. They would be confused and angry if you tried to explain how incompatible those two positions are, with no clear understanding of why they felt those emotions.
