What is Christmas pudding? Some limey thing?

Bots taking over jobs should pay income tax.

Interesting. Dems should make it a mission to force this idea on Republicans, since they've established themselves as the party of protecting American jobs. Obv it would be unnecessary if you simply raised income tax bigly on the 1%, but they will never do that.

Like am I wrong in thinking this would be a big slam dunk politically for the Dems? Draft a bill which proposes robot tax, Republicans shoot it down, now go on the campaign trail talking about how we tried to protect the American workers but Republicans sold them out to the special interests, etc etc.

wikipedia is showing me some thing that looks like buffalo dung (alternatively, black vomit) and is also known as "plum pudding" because it contains raisins and brits are too dumb to know the difference between a raisin and a plum?

Is it like chocolate cake? It's hard for me to have an idea of what the texture should be as you people use the word "pudding" for everything from dinner rolls to sausage to piles of goop.

Imagine that you've just stuffed yourself completey full of food and have many hours of sitting uncomftably in front of bad TV with family you usually avoid to look forward to.

Now imagine the heaviest, stodgiest thing possible. Cover it with brandy, set it on fire and pour on cream. Eat and think of England.

Pretty hysterical headline. He invited someone with odious opinions. Maher would probably invite Hitler on his show if he could; hell he invites Ann Coulter all the time. That is his worldview.

The article says that Trump is absent from their discussion, but Maher says specifically "For someone who loves free speech and hates authoritarianism, you sure picked a strange boyfriend in Trump."

I think Maher should have been harder on him, at least in the one-on-one part, which is the only part I saw, but they have a good amount in common, so they ended up talking a lot about that. And Milo of course misrepresented himself as a playful shock entertainer, rather than a peddler of hate.

He never goes hard in those 1on1 interviews, that's like his thing. Which is why I was disappointed Milo wasn't on the panel. It was supposed to be 40 minutes of this:

Still, Bill was a bit too chummy for my tastes, even though by the end it's obvious he can't stand the dude.

Honestly I'd hoped Maher would be a stalwart against any of the 'this is why trump won' nonsense but he seems to have drank that koolaid thoroughly as it applies to the so-called PC.

My oldest uncle, the extended family patriarch and long time staunch conservative, has early stage dementia. One result of this is that he literally likes anything I post on Facebook. I could post Jane Fonda sodomizing a crucifix, he'd like it.

So now my 10-20 anti-Trump posts/day get liked by him - which instantly broadcasts my posts to not just my friends, but his network of mostly conservative olds. I'm not even sure if you can mute someone who's not your friend - but I am sure 99% of olds could never figure out how to do it.

This brings a huge smile to my face.

lol, wut? How is it you're over the age of 12 and haven't figured out Bill Mahr's shtick?

Back in my glory clubbing days in LA - inevitably Bill Maher would show up with one or more Russian models who towered over him by 6"+, and get whisked to the front of the line. "Is Bill Maher here yet?" was a running joke.

Those are only the anti-Trump posts. Presumably he has other things going on too.

You're aware of how many posts your friends make?
02-19-2017 , 12:44 PM
Atc, were you unaware he dated Coulter for a long time?

By the time robots take all our jobs, there will be no person to pay tax to. Robots would just pay tax to other robots and we would be at best reduced to their pets and at worst, their slaves.
