2) I've only seen one episode, but as far as kids TV goes, it seems pretty decent. Crazy, but decent. The message it tries to get across is basically "being active is better than being lazy (lol ironyaments, you're WATCHING ****ING TV), eating healty is a good thing, etc. The cake song episode (the only one I've seen in it's entirety) actually makes a big deal out of eating too much sugar.
3) my kids (4 and 2) were kind of ambivalent about the show. The four-year-old knows about the show because he's doinked around with the lazytown flash games on nickjr.com, and they both said they liked the show after seeing it, but neither has since asked to see it again. FWIW, they watch approximately 30-60 minutes of TV per day.
4) disclosure: the kids shows I'm personally most impressed with are Blue's Clues (I prefer steve to joe) and Thomas and Friends (the Alec Baldwin episodes are the best imo, but I have a soft spot for Baldwin). I pulled down a few of the Thomas episodes narrated by ringo (in the US these were re-done by george carlin) and my kids were totally bamboozled. I don't think they could make out a single thing he said. lol.
