I vote for what I feel are in the long term interests of the country. I don't necessarily care for social programs that may benefit me. The economy is my main focus and I feel that a strong economy and strong economic planning benefits the country greatly long term (ie a 1% increase in GDP each year over 20 years means the country is far better off than otherwise).
Harper is an economist and an absolute genius in my opinion in terms of his ideas on economic planning. His ideas at the g20 or g8 for the world economy are probably also the best of any country's leaders, so it is important not just for Canada, but the world to have a strong intelligent voice on economic matters. That is why I voted Conservative.

Both Ignatieff and Duceppe currently losing by 220+ votes.
05-02-2011 , 10:23 PM
How do they decide someone has been "elected" after 20/300 polls reported? Clearly it's not when the opposition is "mathematically eliminated".
