I am quite surprised this is getting almost no attention at all. This is the 10th day they have been facing off over a temple on the border of these 2 countries.

Cambodia has asked the UN to settle this matter. If the UN decided in Thailands favor, do you think Cambodia would accept this decision?

What decision do you think would appease both sides of the conflict. And why is appease now a horrible word.

It does worry me when a senior government official uses the phrase imminent state of war.

Quote:

"In the face of this imminent state of war, this very serious threat to our independence and territorial integrity, we have an obligation to resort to the UN Security Council," Cambodia Foreign Minister Hor Namhong said Tuesday.

Although easily accessible only from Thailand, it was bestowed to Cambodia in 1962 by the International Court of Justice in the Hague, a ruling that still rankles with Thais.
Why would the UN ignore an ICJ decision and side with Thailand?
