He randomly showed up to a Warriors game last month and twitter exploded. What a boss.

Is all 30 minutes of that about Prince? 'Cause I'd like to listen to Smith stammer as little as possible but do enjoy a good Prince story.

The prince super bowl story still makes me smile

Playing Prince's discography at the bar and accidently included I Would Die 4 U and it was way too soon. :'(

Why does it take 14 years to change the picture?

This is infuriating:

Gov. Paul LePage vetoed a bill Wednesday that would allow pharmacists to dispense an anti-overdose drug without a prescription, saying that allowing addicts to keep naloxone on hand “serves only to perpetuate the cycle of addiction.”
FYI naloxone is really ****ing safe. This is horse****.

The point isn't that naloxone isn't safe, it's that it saves the lives of/enables drug addicts.

What's up with New England and heroin anyway?

Jbrochu, zikzak - are you guys channel swimmers?
04-22-2016 , 02:20 AM
Probably have to resort to using heroin because they're around New Englanders all the time.

We kinda missed out on the meth epidemic, so this is our time to shine.

idk the serious answer. Probably demographics and other various socio-economic reasons. Lotta people on the lower end of middle class with access to better than average health care getting over-prescribed oxies maybe? Kinda spitballing here. Really need Falcon's hot take for this one.

Equal protection doesn't mean equal fine values. A fine should be like X percent of monthly pay so it affects everyone equally.
04-22-2016 , 09:06 AM
That still doesn't affect people equally, for some 10% of their monthly pay going to a fine means being hungry for others it means not much.
04-22-2016 , 09:07 AM
Prob because the paperwork you'd need to prove poorness well enough to keep the gaming to a minimum isn't worth the effort for a discount on a $100 ticket.

Sounds like a fantastic philosophy. I nominate lowkey to be the new architect of our income tax system.

It's a fine, not a tax though.

Agreed. They're not the same thing. But if that's ones guiding principle, then it's not a huge stretch to go from one to the other. Just a small step really.

Also, that was intended to be a flippant LC post and not an attempt to generate serious discussion.

Taxes are already supposed to be somewhat progressive in America.

Well if progressive is what you were shooting for, then what you should have suggested was higher percentages for wealthier people instead of the same percentage for everyone.

What you suggested was analogous to a flat tax.
