No as soon as he went down,they have been bitching all year that the black kid wasn't starting. They were the only ones cheering,totally shameless not even hiding their joy.

I think figuring out undergraduate admissions must be pretty tough. My issue is more with graduate school admissions. Specifically, my graduate school's admissions at the University of Wisconsin.

basically.

Yeah, it sucks that a poor high achieving white kid doesn't get the diversity credit that a similarly situated black kid. But you know, he does get to be white for the rest of his life. And he was white before that.

A whole lot of people are not addressing the argument that affirmative action helps whites:

Well, legacy admits and (gasp) sports admits hugely benefit white kids at elite schools, so it does balance out somewhat.

I think both forms of discrimination are complete garbage even though I benefited from one of them.

But like the institutional racism that had African Americans as chattel property until 1865, de jure second class citizens until 1965, and de facto second class citizens until, well, the present is just part of the game???

The poor black kid at Harvard is basically a complete myth. Those kids are so far behind, and score so lowly on the standardized tests, that even in easy majors they do very, very poorly. So you end up with really privileged kids from elite private high schools.
