Amanda Knox Convicted... Again Amanda Knox Convicted... Again

I don't think the American public or political system will allow her extradition.

Something about this case seems disturbing and makes me want to root for Amanda. I do feel sympathy for the victim's family and think they deserve justice. I just don't think extraditing her serves that purpose at this point regardless of whether she's guilty or not.

Of course, it's hard for Italy to gain positive PR over this in the US. A young female college student tried, convicted, and jailed in a foreign land. That's hard enough to swallow, but if guilty, I think most people would accept it. But after even their own system finds insufficient evidence and overturns the original verdict and releases her, I think it's game over. No way Americans will tolerate her being taken from her homeland to serve time in a far away prison. The feeling I get is like when you played the game tag as a kid. For whatever reason, she reached the safety zone of her home base and is now off limits.

Sorry if there's another thread on this or if this isn't the proper forum. I thought this does have a lot of political connotations to it and I skimmed the first two pages and saw nothing on it. Curious what other people's thoughts are on the recent guilty verdict and whether it's acceptable.

There's a thread in OOT. We don't need one here.
