too funny...

Air America failed because the product SUCKED...

MSNBC fails and has 38 viewers because the product SUCKS

The NYTimes fails because the product SUCKS

The Boston Globe fails because the product SUCKS

I love people who try and find reasons for no one backing their failed liberal ideas...

I should have said inclined instead of savvy.

Yes, these products suck, but why don't they put people on these shows that are interesting to listen to. Radio should be cheap so there should be dozens of shows. I do think the reason if you look in to it, is propaganda. The rich the bankers the Illuminati the military the government the new world order whomever you decide is at the top of the pyramid wants to feed you the news it wants you to hear. Air America died not because of advertisers. Air America was designed to give you a bad taste in your mouth for progressives. So it might be good to end it and force people on the internet to download podcasts.

However, when you asked the same people individual questions about their ideals, both social and economic those same people tended to be more liberal than conservative.

I think the label gets in the way of the actual reasoning. Just my opinion.

Yeah, the right uses "liberal" as a slur, conservative has no such connotation. It's the politics of language.

Talk radio is such a weird format of hyper simplified response production(rather than actual analysis) that I think your prime liberal demographic(urban, educated whites) has no interest in a mirror image of Rush Limbaugh. They'll watch The Daily Show on Hulu, but sitting through 3 hours of kneejerk leftist bull****? You might sell that to the sort of people who protest WTO meetings, but the bog standard Democratic voter ain't buying.

I think they like NPR. Some serious news, some commentary from mostly left leaning people, and some weird ass hippie artistic piece on a gay ethiopian ukulele player. Market cornered imo.

How come there's 150:1 ratio of right-wing shows to left (radio and otherwise)? I'm making up this number, but you get the point.

The majority of America, just doesn't want to hear liberal talk? Does that really seem like a rational answer?

When I have listened to libs on the radio they seem to just bitch and complain for the most part..... if that's what I wanted to listen to I would still be married to my first wife.

Long since gone from Air America but Randi Rhodes is kinda awesome. Will again rehash my million dollar idea of a Crossfire type radio show of Randi Rhodes and Michael Savage together.

Savage would end every argument by calling her a cow.

If only they gave steelhouse an 3-hour long show, Air America would be #1 in ratings in that timeslot. I'd record every show.

If you got Randi Rhodes and Michael Savage together in actual crossfire, I would support your idea.

I think the interesting question is why males dominate talk radio and the audience is mostly male.
This is because in our cars is the only place where we have the opportunity to listen to other men talk. All of our time spent outside of our cars is dominated by a cacophony of female chatter that is inescapable and impenetrable.

Women rarely pause or take a breath while talking. On the rare instance that they do and a man is brave enough to attempt to enter the conversation he is immediately reprimanded for interrupting.

I almost agreed with you until I realized your second paragraph describes Sean Hannity.

Reminded me of Robert Jordan, for those that know who he is.

I would have to say that the evidence you have presented actually supports 13ball's initial premise 100%.

In other good news, Michael Savage is back on the air in the Bay Area!

Sad day for America. Now we will have kids all brainwashed right like they were done in the 1980s and 1990s. New World Order on its way.
Young... people... don't... listen... to... radio...

Liberal radio was never a sustainable model.

DemocracyNow.org, however... has been.
