Like I said, it's a lot of cultural posturing. When I tell you that anthropologists who study a region for a year or two and then go back to California (a very certain place by the way, California is in America too, I've been there, I've lived there, but I'm not saying microbat is wrong entirely... he just doesn't wander behind closed doors) I have no idea what they're talking about when they write a book, I'm not kidding. I do not question that they are very serious people with very good degrees doing some really good work. But there's just another game going on that they aren't aware of at all. It sounds pretty terrifying and all, but it's not bad, not if you're really paying attention. This is what I mean when I say don't worry about Civil War 2.0, the brownshirts hitting people upside the head, and so on. These are all valid concerns about the world in general, or whatever, but right now... nope.

* Donald Trump is one of them

Young, idealistic pie-in-the-sky liberals imo. Wait until they get their first tax bill, see how much they like big government socialism then!

rasmussen theories

1) they just happened to stumble upon a sample of ~750 women who really are split evenly

this seems very unlikely:

2) someone that works for them that conducts surveys and inputs data has gone rogue

3) they've seen that drumpf has 12.5m twitter followers and that he'll retweet any poll that makes him look good AND that he'll namedrop polling organisations in his speeches like he did yesterday, and have decided that this represents such a large amount of money & subscriptions they just have to grab it. what's one or two fraudulent polls among friends. they can go back to normality soon and it can be explained away as an anomaly. note: as i poasted yesterday, this would not be the first time that the ras poll has been the only red in an ocean of blue. SOP?

one inherent problem with 538 I keep coming back to is that it's only as good as the data Nate is feeding into it, and there are a whole lot of garbage polls his rules force him to feed into it, including ones that have a distinct taint of being massaged for clickbait or dollars

whether it's 538 or somebody else, the next generation of poll aggregator is going to have to only include polls with crosstabs and then discard all data X deviations from the semi-objective mean as determined by some combination of the other polls, past voting history and demographics. yes this introduces herding bias and is itself vulnerable, but it's better than blindly adding in Objectively ******ed Poll #472

"Follow the money" does seem to be the key. Ad revenue may be the answer but if you really want to conspiritard the entire news world benefits from the race being portrayed as "close" and could pay Scott for putting out bad polls.

one of them is +33. do you like that poll better than the +0 (or whatever it was)?
10-14-2016 , 09:17 AM
they run a subscription service which im guessing has garnered a few new signups in the last 24h:

(which actually i nearly signed up for when we were having the debate about the meaning of the +7 clinton poll cos i wanted to see the crosstabs)

no but there's no obvious revenue generating implications of publishing +33 that i can tell, which makes me less suspicious that it was intentionally fraudulent. not saying btw that the ras one cant be just variance cos i think it can.

may also be worth noting that the bulk of those women +whatever data points were recorded pre-pussygate and pre-gropegate

I knew some dirt on Ken Bone would turn up, I guess I'm glad it isn't worse than this.

in a vacuum, no. obviously if it was the only one conducted during tape weekend, news happens, but if I ran an aggregator I would ditch both.

Seems fine. Guessing a trawl of my 2+2 post history would turn up worse.

"Forgot to delete comments?" Maybe he just doesn't give a ****.

For real though it is really sick how many right wing media guys were just complete "groping truthers" yesterday. Talking about airplane armrests, "isn't this timing strange?" and blaming the accusations pretty much directly on the Clinton campaign (coordinated with the mainstream media). That is some really sick ****. This is a major political party in our country.

And he was trying to act like a champion of survivors on just Sunday.

This was the playbook that has worked on the past but doesn't fly today.

HastenDan, do you find it hypocritical if people who like Tarantino films think random acts of violence unacceptable?
10-14-2016 , 10:07 AM
His Trayvon take is pretty much as reasonable as a person who thinks it's justified could be. There are all sorts of people on that map.

oops, hopefully he doesn't get into trouble over this. ain't no statute of limitations on getting fired

btw the venn diagram of black people and black people who love r kelly is almost one circle.

attacking rap music in the context of donald trump committing sexual assault is such a nonsensical and LOLold thing to do.
Whatever man, they're still pornographic lyrics that obviously objectify women - reading it I've got to tell you I'm not a massive fan. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to be able to say that and still be able to differentiate it from what Trump did and then move on.

i dont understand why you even want to litigate the issue in the first place

Guy asked a bunch of questions, I gave an honest answer.

new poll: drumpf +4

Spoiler:

This rapper stuff should be moved to the throwback thread. "OBAMA'S HIP-HOP BBQS!" was classic 2012 derp.

to who, hastendan?

lol you suggested that the only reason hillary or the obamas might be seen with black entertainment artists ("these people", as you put it) is because they're pandering to a black audience, and that maybe michelle obama should have chosen more wisely (ironically, when one of those artists pictured is R kelly).

just stop
