I have been to many countries including Switzerland and despite how beautiful it is, Switzerland would probably not rank in the top half in terms of places I would like to live. The only reason it would come close is that I've been to a bunch of dirt-poor Asian countries. It would rank near the bottom of my European rankings.

Rasmussen at T+2, suggesting that their Sunday polling was a massive anomaly.

Maybe Trump supporters being unwilling to admit it for a day?

Dilbert article doesn't disappoint. It's a nice appetizer of butthurt. The next month is going to be amazing.

I especially love:

The Master Persuasion Hypothesis worked splendidly until the double-whammy of the Access Hollywood tape and the “octopus” meteor.
As if he didn't just spend the last week explaining how the Access Hollywood tape wasn't that big of a deal and how Trump totally killed the debate.

Also worth a laugh: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/1516959...ump-vs-clinton

Clinton has a drinking problem

Trump has a temperament/ego/narcissism problem

Result: Tie. Both probably true. But if so, both of them got this far, so apparently they can control themselves enough to succeed.
I didn't even know we were resorting to Clinton having a drinking problem!

Who could have guessed that a man who bragged about groping women and notoriously hates black people might have groped some women and been mean to black people in his past, and that his lies about both would bring out accusers in a general election?

I mean, clearly you have to be on the inside to have guessed this stuff!

so just to make sure im following your logic, even if Clinton were a rapisr/groper/predator(obviously hes not and has never engaged in morally questionable behavior) we shouldnt talk about it because of the political consequences. that about right?

The trump letter to NYT
10-13-2016 , 09:33 AM
The New South Wales parliament (that's a state in Australia, in case people don't know) just passed a motion about Donald Trump:

Quote:
Greens MP Jeremy Buckhingham tabled a motion on the business paper slamming the Republican, which passed unopposed on Thursday morning.

It said Parliament condemned the "misogynistic, hateful comments made by the Republican candidate for President of the United States of America, Mr Donald Trump, about women and minorities".

It said the taped conversations in which Mr Trump boasted about using his fame to allowed him to grope women "clearly describe sexual assault".

And it said the Parliament "agrees with those who have described Mr Trump as 'a revolting slug' unfit for public office".

Motions on the business paper are routinely passed in the Upper House, unless someone objects.

The motion regarding Mr Trump was passed without dissent, after Upper House president Don Harwin looked into whether the term "revolting slug" amounted to unparliamentary language.

so yesterday was my first ever interaction with a complete RWNJ/conspiritard.

i commented on a friend's facebook post and got into an argument with this woman (ended up being 3 women) and each of these were posed by them:

1) Obama just gave away the internet to the UN
2) New World Order
3) Chemtrails
4) Anton Scalia's suspicious death and lack of autopsy (she then said Obama tried to replace Scalia with a "super liberal judge")

This morning I'm met with something about how they can't believe illegal immigrants are allowed to vote. I commented, "they can't, but i'm sure the facts are no match for your opinions" to which she responded, "correct, that's why we're voting for trump."

That Rasmussen poll (I know LOL Rasmussen) is a little concerning as I think it is the only entirely post-debate poll we have seen so far. I hope I am wrong on that.

Really? Is part of this related to the cost of living or is it the far-right nationalist party that hates everybody not born in Switzerland?

The Swiss people I've met tend to be reserved and quiet, but friendly as well. Though I guess being a white man gives me the privilege of not having experienced casual racism in the western world.

Trump tanked almost 20 points in Wisconsin after a tape where he admits he sexually assaults women. Now that women are coming forward, what do you think happens to his numbers?
10-13-2016 , 09:40 AM
People thought the TicTacs were for Trump's breath, it turns out that's just the candy he's giving to children.

I would hope they go down but the sample in that poll is 10/10-10/12 which presumably includes some of the pre and post debate sexual assault allegations. I guess my fear is more that the debate performance seems to be a positive for him that (at least in that poll) seems to offset the Bill Cosbying.

I ventured in, and quickly ventured out, of a Facebook political discussion group. The sheer amount of "off brand" websites that pump out disinformation is stunning. Your list is pretty tame. The only discussion I had was with a guy that had a pretty slick article about Spain having no government. It selectively used a NYTs piece to assert that Spain was now in full anarchy and the citizens loved it.

The real question is why would anyone believe that? He literally threatened to spread more dirt on Bill "if any more tapes are released." Trump already tipped his hand that there was more **** coming.

I'm also a white male. I just think it's a sterile place, basically what you'd expect out of somewhere that closes its borders and professionally launders money. Just anecdotes, but my friend came off his bike there, was injured and tried to flag people down for help and nobody stopped. And Swiss people I've talked to have generally not been enthusiastic about it. Maybe it would be fine but it didn't immediately strike me as a good place to live the way say Germany or Sweden did.
