Reminder that there are only two flavors of undecided voter: a bunch of main party vs. third party people and a bunch more who are on the fence between C/T and not voting. Undecided voters who vacillate between the two parties are an extinct species.

don't get confused / 80% of the people you see who are undecided are the genuine article who just show up to politics subforums 60 days out because they don't care, but to the extent this exists it's a semi-organized thing this year. most of them were trying to convert sanders supporters for months but that well's run dry so they're spreading out. nbd
a further reminder that if you need help picking out the trolls from the legit undecideds, someone who asks a TvC question is automatically on top of the list

I can't believe this tax issue won't resonate with a bunch of people who could be categorized as "typically Republican voters who could be swayed to Clinton".
Hopefully there's a constituency in there that feels like this, but the well off professional type is already a Democrat, the uneducated Trumpers don't care, and the super rich want to return to the income tax rates of 1912 and nothing short of that will do.

I do know a few people who at least claim to be waffling between the two, because they don't want to throw their vote away. However they're all in CA so it doesn't matter anyway.

He lost. one. billion. dollars. In the 90's...

Speaking of Stone, for years he's been pushing the theory that Chelsea Clinton is actually Webster Hubbel's daughter. If he keeps tanking, I think there's a good chance Trump brings it up at a rally.

Under Bill Clinton, therefore it's Bill's fault!

(this line will work)

Something that reminds me of, right wingers love to darkly hint at future GAME CHANGING stories that will END THE LEFT.

Like, why don't you just end it now? What's up with the delay?

Because the track record of those is.... nothing, ever.

Actual leaks just happen, like NYT didn't try to "time" this tax story, they just dropped it. And if you are timing something, like Hillary did with Miss Universe, you don't ****ing tell anyone. Very odd behavior.

Yeah, it's not like Chelsea looks anything like Bill, amirite?

For some reason mainstream Republicans get a chubby for rich people not paying taxes so yeah I don't actually think that part hurts him at all, not to mention that it appears to be within the bounds of the law. It certainly makes Trump a giant hypocrite but I imagine that's a trait also shared with his supporters. Best thing about it imo is that he can't escape the current negative news cycle on him, even if the individual story isn't all that damaging.

"It's legal" didn't really help Romney, they lit him up on his taxes where he paid 12% or whatever

Probably shouldn't have been raping women in Sweden. Might still be able to live where he wants

Assange isn't the one darkly hinting about this date or that date, it's people like you and Stone and the people who write your stories.

But another good bullet point for my theory that you literally do not know what the word "corruption" means.

People on a deep level already understand that many large corporations and rich people pay little/no taxes (eg. only cap gains). Whereas Romney suffered for elitist comments because he would always try to hide his wealth and upbringing instead of owning up to it and making that a strong point.

On this issue, Trump remains "Teflon Don" because as long as he wasn't breaking the law, these charges aren't sticking where they matter. If anything with independents and swing voters, it may help him. A trader on Wall St that loses a billion dollars is still respected. All this story does is reaffirm that he was dealing with large amounts (which hurts the "not as rich as he seems" angle), and helps Trump's framing that the entire media force conspires against him, since the NYT was supposedly breaking the law to release those returns.

Who else is hinting at a date besides Assange?

What's the line on whether or not there really is something at Wikileaks that will hurt Hillary and get dropped between now and election night?
