It's true that Kansas had a relatively easy schedule, but it was nowhere near as weak as people seem to be claiming. Also, they outscored opponents 44.3-16.0 on average, which is a great result even against a weak schedule.

Their only loss was to one of the top teams in the country (Missouri) on a neutral field. I am not sure why people would think this team is a fraud. The success this team has had is not at all comparable to that of Hawaii, who relied on a massive home field advantage and one of the weakest schedules in Div I-A. Kansas' schedule was nowhere near as easy, and they blew out all of their weak opponents.

A lot of teams could be in the BCS title game. The problem with this year's title game is that no one really deserves to be in it, with the possible exception of Ohio State. LSU is only in because they were #1 for most of the season. USC and WVU would be in the title game if not for incredibly embarrassing, inexplicable losses.

I like Kansas here, because I don't think they should be getting 3.5 points (or even 3). I think VT should be favored by 1 or 2 points.

Obviously I will never be able to prove this point because of sample sizes, but this Kansas team hasn't beaten a good team, and won't. It's easy to have a great MOV against the worst schedule of any BCS conference team. Every single stat for Kansas is highly highly skewed because of the SOS. They beat Kansas State, Colorado, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State on the road. Those might not be great teams, but they are solid and are not easy outs when they are playing at home. I realize this is not the most impressive list of opponents, but you can make light of any team which is not in the top 10.

Looking at VTs schedule, we could do the same thing, downplaying their victories over their ACC competition (not to mention getting disgraced at LSU). Their most impressive victory is beating BC on a neutral field. Of course, they also lost to BC at home. The ACC is certainly no better than the Big 12 this year. If you are going to ignore all of Kansas' victories, what do you hold up as VT's great achievements?

I am not trying to say that Kansas had a schedule comparable to VT. They definitely has an easier schedule.
